Been out sighting in my Crossman Legacy 1000 Ellen got me for Christmas, trying to sight in the scope, the fiber optic sight is dead on but the little 4x scope is all over the place. I don’t really see the need for the scope at 40-50 yards anyway.

Reminds me of a story from my farm days. Our beagle was chasing a fox down over the hill in a patch of pine trees. Lots of multiflora roses. That fox was just running the dog in circles. I grabbed a shotgun and went down and waited where it had been coming out of a break in the bushes. That fox ran out, saw me and just froze. Dog still behind, so I shot and that fox took off again. I drew a little blood but must have primarily missed from 3ft away.
We got our dozer out and pushed out some of the rose bushes but never found the fox.

Which reminds me of another story involving a scope. Dad saw a groundhog out in the garden grabbed a 22 semiauto with scope that we kept in the out building, leaned across the hood of the truck and shot......a hole through the hood of the truck. The scope was a little above the barrel.
Glad it wasn’t me that did that trick.

shoot your own truck, oh no...

lovely day out, got food shopping done, then put new vac hose (the right size this time...) on DR trac vac and sucked up a lot of leaves today, filled that big bin twice.
After four years stored in an open covered shed, disappointed heavy duty canvas top of trac vac is falling apart at the seams in several places. Noticed a few extra leaves
flying out the back and investigated. I can take it to a marine canvas shop and get it restitched.

going to take the rest of the day and chill. Landscapers coming tomorrow and Saturday I work with other helper trimming shrubs, so will get plenty of exercise in next few days.

The little scopes let so little light through, I prefer the open sights. And forget about BB's. They vector off in a curve according to the last side of the barrel they touch. Like an old Brown Bess.

Still fun to shoot plastic communist army men setup in a dirt mound. :)

Yesterday's tiller carb repair netted a cracked old rubber fuel line, in which I get the joy of replacement today.

The old HF Predator 212 cc engine hasn't been too bad. Maybe 3-4 years old, needs an air filter housing and element, a new muffler.....Adds up to a bit over $40 bucks....The whole new engines are $120+tax, sometimes on sale.

Prayers for our team.

Thanks for the well wishes for Ed, he’s a good man.

Went out and dressed the end of the driveway and moved some brush, then I got a wild hair and started rearranging. Took the tractors out of the big garage and moved stuff around, blew out the floor and moved the Monte Carlo over and put the tractors in the small garage.
