Our Trillium is fibreglass on the bottom. Wood inside but fibreglass under it. It’s a 74 and no leaks anywhere since there’s nowhere to leak.

Not sure how others are built.
The Casitas also have fiberglass on the bottom, wood over. It is all good until you get water inside like from a burst water line or a leaking window. Then the water is trapped between the fiberglass bottom and the wood floor.

Haha, I've seen that on TV a couple of times and thought it looked like something I might see around here.

Were airstreams a product of the streamiline Fad of the 50s? Because, I'm sure no one cared about fuel economy back then.

I never knew you could buy a fully-decorated tree then I saw some at Ace Hardware yesterday. $200.

But I doubt the lights would stay lit like that while its transported. :)

Most cars have a 120 volt AC outlet these days,, (my truck has it)
they could simply plug the tree into the car's outlet,, and the car could easily have enough power for a few LED lights,,,

Thanks for the comments on the fiberglass 'egg' tiny trailers - Casita, Burro, Scamp, are there other major brands? I learned checking for wood rot would be important if buying one used.

We tent camped on the ground until infants, then if bad weather was forecast we would still go, but used a tent trailer.
(Photo, Nevada desert). Kids grown and no longer available to helps set it up, we sold that and went back to tent camping.
Death Valley.

Now older, a small enclosed trailer looks mighty inviting. :)

All I can remember wa getting screamed at for touching the canvas when it was raining. Little wonder, I always hated camping.

Bigfoot, Trillium and Boler come to mind. They make new more modern Trillium trailers in several sizes now.

Ya, the Fiberglass RV forum is the good one. They cover a lot of the old manufacturers. Scamp & Casita are the main ones still around. Escape is higher end & newer.

Boller, Burro, U-haul & a handful of others are no longer around. But with as solid as the shells are there are many of the trailers still around in great shape, or at least with the important structure in great shape.

https://www.casitaforum.com is a Casita only forum I use a fair bit. Leans a bit towards newer end of trailers. Think there are Scamp forums as well.

Here is the proper way to secure the load... the steel will help hold it in place!

Reminds me of an old British TV short called 'The Plank'. Freaking hilarious!!!!! Aside from Benny Hill and Monty Python, it's easily the funniest thing I ever saw in BritComs. I see two versions, different dates. Not sure if they're the same or maybe just updated:

The Plank (TV Short 1979) - IMDb

The Plank (1967) - IMDb

Those what do veedeeeooos should be able to find one or both easily enough. Must See TV for this thread and the post above.

I see that fairly often, and log trucks are about every fourth or fifth vehicle on the road here. What isn’t so obvious unless you are beside it or they are skylined, is the cable or two cables over the load between every bunk. I don’t know if that’s the case in this pic, but it’s very probable.

Funny, I never heard of that incident. Should have had Bruce Willis jump on and cover the air intake with a jacket.

I thought these things had four air filters in a row. Call in Chuck Norris, JCVD and Tom Cruise too then 🤣👍
