42 and dense fog. Should see more rain and low 50s.

Smelled a skunk when I went out this morning...so still have some more work to do.

Caught the 10th mouse in my shed over the last week. New record. I take them over to an open spot we named Predator Butte because when I leave them there they disappear day or night. I need to put a cam there, but believe between the foxes and hawks and crows, there is a long line for tasty morsels.

Bird, you need Randy or Rich or Kyle or RNG or others to build you a turbo for your chair motor.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 4:30AM. Cloudy with occasional showers. High 56F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

Your welding's come a long way in a short time, Eric. Nice work! If you fill the barrel with water to keep the Christmas tree green, how will the steel be kept from rusting?

You're a walking miracle, Randy! Eric's recycling doesn't hold a candle to your porcine triumph. Hope Ellen can keep up with you. Is it time to start working on a crate motor for the Monte Carlo so it'll match your new vim and vigor?

Hope the new foot doctor can get you squared away, Drew. When I broke my wrist and leg, I found plastic covers at the pharmacy that were fitted with rubber collars that would seal well enough on skin to keep water out and the casts dry. I don't remember what they were called, but a decent pharmisist I'm sure can fix you right up.

That new chair sounds very comfortable, Bird. And now you have an excuse to not stand up too quickly and can avoid getting dizzy!

The "new" tire for the touring bike that came Thursday was stamped 2517; it's two and a half years old! The seller says that's normal, and that it was stored in a climate controlled environment, but I've never been sold a new tire with that much age on it. There are no cracks, but it is oxidized and seems harder than the one that's on the bike now. They're checking with the manufacturer, but I don't think there's tiim to replace it before I have to leave for SoCal Friday. The old tire may make it down there, but probably doesn't have the tread to make it back. So I think I'll mount it today so I can take advantage of a break in the weather tomorrow to scuff it in, and put this particular vendor on the "don't use" list.

goProShockMount.jpg
The vibration isolating mount for the handlebar camera came yesterday, along with the brackets needed to adapt it, and after match drilling a few holes it seems like it'll work just fine. Looks a bit Rube Goldbergish, though.:confused2:

willett175.jpg
That big bottle of Willett's Pot Still I found at Costco this week is a pretty clear case of "If some is good, more's better". I think it's gonna be a nice weekend.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Good morning! 36˚F heading to the 70s. Good morning to finish my tractor work in the garden of filling the new raised beds with soil.

Good to hear Randy grunting and snorting around this morning.

RNG - That bottle looks like it will make an excellent vase.

After the bumper cover was removed the fiberglass bumper on the Stinger was found to be damaged and will have to be replaced, waiting on part. Looks like this bump in the back will cost her insurance $2K.

Pic of yesterdays tractor work, kind of looks like graveyard work.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 38° with mostly cloudy skies. Little house cleaning today. Need some rest. My 91 year old aunt could pass for a 60 year old. Except for some memory problems. She had a list and I know where everything is in the stores we shopped at. So easy shopping trip. Nope she had another list that was not written. By the time we got the unwritten list done we had done all the aisle in stores 3 times. No wonder she is in such good shape physically. Going to do it again next Friday while my cousin that she lives with is recovering from a back injury. Sure hope I can do as well as her when I get to her age. I was a fun day.

Randy, good news. I see lots of seat time when recovery is complete.

Wngsprd, no luck with mouse control here. I have not trapped one in house yet this year. Maybe I finally found the hole where they were getting in.

Rick, got the ribs yesterday. Now I need time to get them in the pot.

Don, lot harder hit than you thought?

RNG, quite a contraption to help remove bike vibrations. Hope it works.

Bird, my electric recliner always seems to take way to long to get back to upright. But that's OK. I now have my iPad setup to answer my phone and door bell.

Good Morning All.

.

It was loud and forceful and I was surprised there was only a scratch on my bumper from her license plate screws. The collision expert had to point out the un-reparable crease in the bumper cover and said there might be more damage when he took the cover off. He was very good and took pics and submitted them to the insurance co. and the supplement repair was approved and part ordered before he called me. He said sometimes the under the bumper cover is formed styrofoam that needs to be replaced to hold it's shape but the KIA's is fiberglass.

Drew did you ever get an estimate on your truck are are you just going to trade it in as is?

Good morning Everyone!!!!!!

Friday the 13th did not go so well here in Costa Rica. 50 feet into a personal bird/wildlife guided tour Wifey/SWMBO (AKA Peg) tripped, face planted into some mud, and broke her wrist. It could have been worse. Our guide became our personal attendant taking Wifey to a local village Dr that he knew. Despite the primitive nature of his office he did a great job wrapping her wrist with medical supplies that the guide and I bought at the local pharmacy. The guide had to lend me $40(USD) until we got back to the Villa. That took care of all our remaining $(USD). The Dr. And guide really stressed that we go back to San Jose  to get x rays, etc. San Jose traffic is horrible on a good day in non-rush hour traffic; the normal 1 hour drive took 3. We finally found the hospital with GPS. I can attest that CR hospitals at least in San Jose are on par with any USA hospital (maybe better). Wifey got a nice new blue cast and then we had to deal with night time San Jose traffic getting back to the Villa Caletas.:eek: Our CC paid for the treatment and x rays. The tolls coming back care of most of our remaining colonies (CR currency). The $6945 colonies pictured = ~$12.63 (USD). Today's mission find an ATM.

Randy- AWESOME!!!!

Mpsmith- Welcome to the GM shenanigans.

David- An awesome picture!!!! Thanks for sharing another beautiful HI scene. After yesterdayç—´ debacle I am leaning towards vacationing in English speaking countiries.

BEF- It was our fourth day here. :(

Ted- We will make the best of our current situation here in CR. I carry the luggage anyways.

I hope that everyone is having a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

PS: Despite the craziness here. I have some pictures to take and share later.

Jay sorry to hear about your Anniversary vacation accident. Strange, on our 40th my wife also broke her wrist. It took a surgery and a year to heal.

Good Morning. It was 43° calm winds and clear here this morning. Forecast says 78° this afternoon.

I’m determined to get my last burn pile lit this morning. That was the goal last three days but “shiny things” kept distracting me. I may take the ZT and chop up leaves while monitoring the burn pile.

Jay ... sorry Friday the 13th wasn’t a great day for your wife. You’re right about the San Jose traffic ... bad on a good day.

WNG ... the mouse whisperer?

Randy ... nice and easy, don’t push it.

Mr. Bird ... enjoy your new chair.

Don ... glad you got some seat time.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Prayers to all.

Oink oink! Still kicking, pig valve and all.

My wife's replacement valve was from a cow (calf, I presume).
She's still eating hamburgers and other beef products on occasion, although she has a preference for chicken and turkey. She eats more meat than I do, in fact!

Up late this morning! Nice to sleep in after being up and down most the night...

34 and rainy right now. High in the mid-40's and rain most of the day.

No chores, no plans...putter around a bit and watch some old movies on the Blu Ray player today...while sippin' on some Jameson Irish Whiskey

I’m home and already had that Carolina BBQ! Stopped at Cook Out on the way home.
Just over 24 hours from arrival to departure. Doctor said my numbers and recovery were amazing. I have to take it easy for 4-5 days. Groin is sore as heck. But I’m home with a new valve.

Morning All,

Fog is in, 53 headed to high 50's.

My Weather Rock says its wet outside couldn't tell me if it was raining, but the weather was suppose to be cloudy.

Cool and wet today is my assumption, so I think the Office needs cleaning.

I decided not to use the Land Plane on the road any more until I get some additional material... what kind not completely sure; I need to do some more reading on the subject before going further.

The best to all.

Merry Christmas to all and all a good morning.

Today's low was a humid, partly sunny 76ºF; presently 81ºF with conditions unchanged; and I anticipate a humid and mostly cloudy 85ºF for today's high temperature.

Wifey is definitely whacked on the pain meds, but managing pretty well.

Randy- I love your response to the surgery and your post operative meal is awesome. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Paco is still hanging with his girlfriend. I've never seen this behavior before. He did briefly respond to me making like a male iguana; but figured out that I was an imposter much to the amusement of staff and patrons.

This picture was made through a spotting scope of a basilisk, Jesus Christ lizard...... right before Wifey's fall.
