JD3039r vs Kubota L3560

Good Evening All,
I am sure this thread has been beat to death but all the research I do online seems 50/50. I am ready to pull the trigger on a new tractor. I have looked at the JD3039r and the Kubota L3560. Both are being purchased with the FEL JD320/Kubota LA555 and 3rd function valve for a grapple. JD is 28500.00 with 0% financing for 84 months. Kubota is 29900.00 with 1.99% for 84 months. In the long run, the Kubota is going to cost $1517.71 in finance charges so the overall difference is going to be $2567.71 in the long run. I have looked at the specs and each has their own benefits, in my opinion almost like Ford vs. Chevy. I am leaning towards JD due to the $ difference in cost and finance charges. Appreciate all thoughts!! Thanks in advance......

I'm guessing you are wanting the 84 months and not the 60 months which you get the 0% from Kubota.

0% A.P.R. for 60 Months with 0% Down1 OR
0.99% A.P.R. for 72 Months with 0% Down1 OR
1.99% A.P.R. for 84 Months with 0% Down1

Also, just curious, why the LA555 loader and not the LA805?

Both tractors are from good manufactures and it comes back down tot the old Chevy vs Ford debate on which is better. I'm assuming that you are equally comfortable with either dealer.

My advice is don't let the difference in price make up your mind. Drive both; & simply go with the one you like the best. Let your gut decide. Things as simple as seating position, how you like or dislike the engine vibs & sound, how does it shift, and how the controls feel. Simple things like that. For me, it makes a big difference how easily I can position the bucket to be flat on the ground for doing delicate work. Do I have to stand up and guess if the bucket is flat on the ground, or does it just seem to be easy to get it right. Those kinds of things ultimately mean more than the money diff.

I agree with rScotty, drive both and see which one "fits" best. I looked at the John Deere and ended up getting the L3560. It just seemed to fit better for me. I know some do not like the HST pedal but it was one of the things I actually like. I don't use it as a rocker but treat it as two separate pedals. I would recommend the LA805 loader. I have the LA805 with a 72 inch bucket and so far it has lifted everything I need to lift. Also have a grapple and third function and that is my default on the loader. It makes stacking brush fun vs work.

Some will tell you that both units are to low on HP but in my case, at sea level basically, the L3560 seems fine. More HP is always good but I don't really need it for anything I do.

In my opinion you cannot really go wrong with either unit and price is close enough t hat I would buy the one you want and feel most comfortable in.

Good advice from rScotty. Both are very good manufacturers but only you can 'fit' the tractor, especially the controls ('rocker' vs. 'individual' FWD/REV pedal, FEL joystick position/operation, etc...).

The final decision IMHO comes down to the actual Dealership itself. Sales is one thing but the reputation/support of their Parts/Service Department is the long-term factor. Ask around (neighbours, the blokes at the Dinner...) who they've dealt with.

I would have guessed the Kubota is a larger chassis tractor but maybe not??

Why not Kubota's "0%" financing?

Kubota is a Japan based company with most of its manufacturing and assembly there.

Japanese interest rates have been below zero for years. In October 2019, Japanese 10-year JGB interest rates was -0.165% on average.

Kubota borrows $10,000 in Japan, pays back ~~$9,998~~ ten years later.

Kubota borrows as necessary in Japan to provide "0%" financing in the USA to move iron.

Thank you for the comparison data, it is greatly appreciated. I was considering JD's financing because it is 0% for 7 years where Kbota is 1.99% for the same time period. THe difference over the life of the loan is roughly $1700.

I am hoping that the grapple and either the L3560 (i may bit the bullet and go L4060) or the 3039r will move 8 ft sections of trees after I drop them. The majority of the trees are pine and no more than 12 inches in diameter. If I go with Kubota, the prices quoted include the LA805 Loader, i misread the original quote last night when i posted.

Use Kubota's 0% financing for six years.

Not very smart to pay $1,700 interest for the ONE additional year. $1,700 is three monthly payments.

Money is a concern, skip the grapple and tow the tree trunks out with chains and a cross-drawbar. $200 instead of $3500.

The bare tractor weight of the L3560 and L4060 is functionally identical. L4060 will be slightly more stable because of 6" additonal width if you must work on slopes but also slightly less maneuverable between trees, through gates and doors.

None of the the current model Grand L tractors will fit into a garage with an 84" header, even with ROPS folded.
Same weight Kubota MX series will enter garage with ROPS folded.

I cant find the promotion from Kubota for 72mo @ 0%. All I see is the 60/mo @0%, 72/mo @.99% and the 84/mo @ 1.99% . Did you see this on a Kubota site? Thanks for all of your input thus far, great info to consider.

Check with your Kubota dealer on "0%" financing. Current financing options are something dealers explain every day.
The web site is not infallible on Kubota incentives.

I visited my Kubota dealer today. There is "0%" seven year financing available but it requires 20% cash down at purchase.

Finance incentives change quarterly, so confirm during December.

Well I have an update... I went ahead and pulled the trigger and got the L3560... The financing is 1.99% x 84 months... I contacted my insurance agent for a better deal on the insurance... now that I have made the decision I am anxious to see my new machine. Thank you all for all of the input; it was greatly appreciated... I will post pics when I actually get hold of the L3560...
