I wish Fredricks rebuilts were available here in the West but I don't think they have any dealers west of the Mississippi. I've never even seen one re-sold on Craigslist etc.

They are available directly from them, shipping should not be too much of a problem. My first Yanmar was a Fredrick reconditioned YMG 2000 It was 4wd, I bought it through craigslist here in NC. At the time I was mowing about 6 ac. and thought it was too small, and sold it. After that I began to learn more about them, and wanted another one.

I have been very happy with the Yanmar 2402. It is gear drive whereas the 2420 I believe has the power shift trans.
I think I have put around 100 hrs on it in almost 4 years.
