I have a jump starter/ compressor I got at Costco years ago. I use it a good bit, usually on lawnmower or my small Massey tractor. I like that it has a clamp on to the valve stem and not a screw on.

It's no mystery that when Japan started WWII in the Pacific that tragic day, the US would have to end it with the equally tragic destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It's the only thing the Japanese at the time would respond to: Horrific violence. People forget that. It's still the same today, but we're doing a little better job of keeping the swords sheathed.Hoever, the constant stream of terrorist events, third world bush fights, and even our wildfires and hurricanes, should remind us that the veneer of civilization is very thin.

One of the things that I noted about American cars was that although Jaguar had won Le Mans using disk brakes way back in the early 50s and disk brakes were used on English, European and Japanese production cars it took a few years to become mainstream in America. It was the same with Quartz halogen as against sealed beams.
Drip trays were for use under English cars.
I investigated the use of toilet paper oil filters for our large fleet of commercial vehicles way back in the eighties. Yes it would work if it was installed as a bypass filter but in the long term the oil additives would lose their efficiency and damage to the engine would occur. Engines would burn oil (more so in those days) but the added pint or so top up would not add enough of the additives to protect the engine.

American car builders wanted to go to quartz halogen years earlier, but antiquated federal law said no. As for oil change intervals, every car built in the last 30 years can go 10000 between changes. Yes oils are far better, but so are engine tolerances and materials.
Bear in mind that for many years Rolls, Bentley, BMW, Jaguar and many other high end European cars had GM transmissions. That includes some Bimmers well into the 2000s.

Had a busy day, blood draw at 7:45 am in prep for my TAVR, breakfast, some in law business and visit, lunch, then home to decorate the great outdoors, pick up groceries, get dinner, put everything away and stop for the day about 7:30. Now probably a nap before bed.
Temps were a little cool, around 44 and breezy. 26 now, may get really cold tonight.

You guys all crack me up, just got home. Had a nice visit grandpa is now a widower after about 60 years of marriage. Gram passed away 3 weeks ago but he is doing good and had us have Chinese food for dinner you know at 4:30..... going to unwind tinker with some things and have a beer.
