Fuel Additive SA424

Are you guys running any fuel additive? I have winter coming up and considering something to prevent algae between uses and gelling if the temps really drop.

We use Howes in all of our skidsteers and I have a 424 with ~400 hours. Never had issues with gelling as long as fuel is topped off and engines are idled 30-60 minutes weekly (if not used for other reasons).

I use Power Service:
Silver Bottle=Summer
White Bottle=Winter
Red Bottle=Gelled Winter

If the white bottle was any good you would not need the red.

I use PS White Bottle, Howes, and Stanadyne 'Lubricity' (purple label) all year long in the NHs, the Case/IH, and the Kioti as recommended by my friend Kent Hoyt.

I'll use the same 'cocktail' in the skidder if I can get it started. It's something in the wiring, but the thing's kinda hard to reach around to test connections, or a lot of walking on failing knees to keep circling it to troubleshoot. :laughing:

One Winter long ago, I diluted my #2 with kero, maybe up to half (top ups defy declaring ratios). GPH burned moving snow cured me of that within a tankful or so.
