Randy- Thanks for that info. I am still able to clean my stovepipe, but the day may come that I can not. I get so little creosote buildup now with the new wood stove that I probably do not even have to clean the stovepipe as often as I do, but if this place ever caught fire it would probably become toast due to our location. Our VFD is really decent, but I have to be realistic.

I am still getting periods of light lake effect snow around here making even less desirous of digging out mt rosemary shrubs.:embarrassed: I'd rather be sucking down Rick's chicken soup..

Yesterday's movie "The Lighthouse" is a B&W avant garde type movie hoping to become a "Cult Classic." We saw it so that now none of you have to unless one is into "cult movies." 2 martini's later I was still trying to grok it; I still am. The lamb shank/potato pancake meal that I had for dinner last night was awesome good eats.

Buckeye, a living will is a tough one. Wife and I did it about 10 years ago. Picking the person to give directive too was hard. Finally got youngest son to accept it. Took a class for him to understand what we were asking him to do. It's even more important now that my wife has passed. I have had to do it twice. I do not want to ever have to do it again.

Living revocable trust, not living will. Although that might be involved also.

Trust is to avoid probate. I need to go back and look at the old draft to see what I didn’t like about it. We had a trust and wills drafted, maybe even a medical directive. At the time our kids were minors, so situation has now changed.

You throw one in your wood stove once a week and it keeps the flu and chimney free of creosote buildup.

Burn your stove hot and don't try burning green wood and you will have no problem with cresote. Potato skins will do the same thing.

....so does burning aluminum cans . . . .

BEF- Good luck. My late Dad was an insurance broker and estate planner. He set himself up a fancy Living Revocable Trust with me as the executor to avoid Probate. The Trust was essentially set up in PA & FL. Unfortunately my Dad died in CT as a CT resident and I as executor still had to go through CT Probate Court to settle his estate (Trust). It was a legal and bureaucratic nightmare. He was too smart for his/my own good. In theory everything $ should have automatically rolled over to an estate settlement account (w/o Probate) for disbursements. It did not happen so quickly nor easily.

Each State is different with estate settlements. If I remember correctly and I am trying to forget some States have different regulations based on the estate's value.

Welcome to TBN and GM, Jasper

Hey, thanks, guys! Now, if you could just tell my “Dad” how to make a special seat for me to ride on his tractor. I get lonely when he takes off on it.

Well, I did get more sleep. Up for 2nd time.

Now 39° sunny and windy.
HS playoff game tonight, but not going to try that yet.

Rick, soup must have been good. We had more of our pot of soup last night. Think it’s now half gone.

Prayers for all
Be safe

David- You should go into the bracket/rack building business. Good luck with the installation. I await further pictures.

It looks like the snow modeled for next week may not happen for most of us, but a lot can happen between now and next week. I am prepared regardless.

Nice pic Check. Me too! Me too!

partly successful morning. Podiatrist says he's done with me, slow heal from now on out.
Then went to Garden Club meeting, and had to leave 20 minutes later, thought my head would fall off,
tinnitus went crazy from live room, low ceiling and 30 women all talking at once.
Felt like a drum going off in my ear, just had to go outside, and it promptly subsided, but left me with headache
and determination to get steroids injected in that ear. So I made my excuses and left, but only a few minutes before President came over and saw my face and
asked if I was alright. No...so she understands.
But I did snag all my Dutch bulbs I ordered, and have a nice selection of them to plant, tulips, crocuses, daffodils.
Windy and raw out now, despite sun, going to wait until mid afternoon and then go plant some bulbs.
Thankfully a quiet operation.

I looked at the older lady at the podiatrist today with hugely swollen ankle and all kinds of issues,
was thankful I have what I have.

I might try to start the 1968 Cub Cadet today. I'm sure the points are stuck.
Really need to sell that, in very good condition, let it be someone else's winter project or
project to do with grandchildren. Deck is in a million pieces but it's all there, in plastic bins, waiting for
a motivated person. I mowed with it so I know it works, just sure didn't need another mower, much less one 51 years old.
It is definitely on my sell list. I'm doing pretty well so far, down two tractors and a chipper, now need to work on little stuff.

I also have a very low hour Ariens walk behind mower I would give someone for free. Drive belt won't stay on, plus with marvelous Kawasaki
single engine, with oil filter, it is heavy as can be and was not the ditch mower I needed. Plus after it stopped for the third time, and a warranty shop and a buddy
couldn't get it to work, I gave up on it. I bought it because I thought it was the heaviest duty thing out there. Turns out the cheapest, most lightweight mower was what I needed. One of a few items I have "collected" along the way which really need to go to happier homes. If any of you guys within driving distance of me want to come get it, I might send you home with a few more things. Bring a truck...;)

ear is much better now, what a relief. Those women just yapped me out of there....:D
