Good morning!!!!

39 going to 45 and windy. Got a small rain last night.

One day is hearty stew by Randy, next BEF has BBQ or crab cakes - making me too hungry.

Eric - no pix necessary to prove your nappy skills.

Friends gave my wife a deodar cedar (3+ ft) as a memorial tree after her dad passed. We hiked around the property looking for the perfect planting spot, and I took my loopers for a little exercise. I need to cut down a nearby dead maple before planting, so it doesn't accidentally fall onto the cedar. It might be too windy today, but I'll see.

Don, would love to see some oak pix once you clear around it. There is an organization that catalogues the largest specimen of each tree species in the country, and many states have groups that do the same within the state. I read an article last month on the North Carolina trees, and how some folk's hobby is searching for new winners, especially after the current champion dies, or as the case was with this NC pine, gets blown over in a big storm. Maybe you have a champ.

Prayers for all in need

Need more sleep.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 20° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 36° with partly cloudy skies. Living Room is back to livable. Got a guy coming out to stretch carpet in bedroom. It has a couple of ripples in it. Then put all the stuff back on shelves, dressers and china cabinet. That should be enough for today.

Little action at feeders yesterday. Young deer came to feeder in middle of the day. Ate all the Cranes food. Went to down to mailbox for mail. Cranes stated making all kinds of noise. More than their occasional honk. Then flew off. When I got in house looked out window. There was a Coyote just beyond feeders. Check cameras. Only thing I saw was the Cranes making noise. Need to check trail cam yet. Cranes did come back later in day.

Eric, you need to keep up on them older skills. Just never know when you need to use them again. I got to renew that skill last August.

Roy, glad your SD can go and help out.

Mostly, I think neighbor and I finally have the playhouse done for the year. Installed door latch without messing up door.

Wngsprd, I got the Instapot out. It's chilli time. Need to decide whether to use light or dark red kidney beans. :licking:

Don, we need pictures of oak tree.

RNG, enjoy the trip/ride.

Check, thanks for the dog pictures.

Hawkeye, best wishes you manage the transition until January. You would think boss you are leaving would use the opportunity to train someone new. :confused3:

Good Morning All.

Buckeye, a living will is a tough one. Wife and I did it about 10 years ago. Picking the person to give directive too was hard. Finally got youngest son to accept it. Took a class for him to understand what we were asking him to do. It's even more important now that my wife has passed. I have had to do it twice. I do not want to ever have to do it again.

Good morning. It's 48°, windy, with light rain this morning and high is expected to get to 53° this afternoon.

We got another 2 5/8" of rain yesterday so, both tanks are officially full and overflowing.

IMG_1004.JPG

The small tank filled up after the 4" we got on 10/29. It's overflow goes to the big tank.

Good morning! 41˚F cloudy occasional light rain, only hitting 50s.
Wngsprd, excellent idea to identifying the largest oak. The largest oak in Sun City would defiantly be a point of interest. I have noticed all the large century oaks have a metal tab with a number but I don't know what it represents or where the information is kept. This may be another mystery to solve out here like "where do they hide the tractors". I'll get right on it. If all else fails I'll just have to measure the circumferences. Pic will be in a week we had to stop because we had to remove a fence (my expertise) and the rain. I gave lessons on how to roll barbed wire. This new part of the neighborhood was a cow field till last year.
We are actually wanting a good rain to determine where to put the trail, some of the watersheds are undetermined and we need to define them.

Eric, turn around, take a deep breath, hold it, and carry-on.

RNG, can a wind close the container door while you are inside?
