Hello, Looking at a Kubota tractor with a Woods mowers. Is this a brush hog or a finish mower?

Thank you! Are these good mowers for large lawn areas? There is also a JD950 with a mower on it (see below). The JD has turf tires. Here is what I'm looking at taking care of: 4 acres of lawn area and 18 acres of hay fields. I have the following equipment:

- Kubota L4610 with Ag tires, FEL, and the Woods mower as shown above
- JD950 with turf tires and the mower as shown below
- Kubota B2620 with Ag tires and a 60" 3-blade belly mower

Given the above equipment how would you tackle this property? Anyone familiar with that JD mower? Are any of these mowers suitable for cutting hay until I can afford a mower designed for it? There are also some areas of brush that I will want to deal with someday. Thanks again!

ALL 3 of those mowers are finish mowers and good for large lawn areas. If you try to use one as a bush hog you will break the belt in no time. You can not cut hay with a finish mower or a bush hog. You can mow it down or bush hog it if you don't intend to do anything else with it. Hay equipment is designed just for that, hay.

Thanks Shaneard. Looks like I'm rich in finish mowers. I need to keep one finish mower and sell the others to help pay for a brush hog and eventually something for the hay.

If your going to bale hay you don't need a brush hog, you need a haybine. If it's just about keeping it mowed then a brush cutter it flail mower will do the job.
