Yesterday, between 5 and 6 p.m. the NWS broke in on our TV with severe weather warnings. Radar showed it just west of us and on the way. Then we started to get little sprinkles of rain. The temperature started dropping from 94 degrees, headed down. And then . . . the thunderstorm split and went by north and south of us. I got a total of about .02" of rain in my gauge.:confused3: At least it's down to 59 degrees this morning. The last decent rain we got was on August 30. We did get about .01" last month (Sept. 19) and now about .02" yesterday. Sure is dry around here.

We did finally get our Fox Sports 1 back on Dish Network ..... I had to watch Astros on my iPad Saturday evening.

.

Thanks for the heads up. My son just did some kind of free trial signup as a work around to watch the Yankees tonight since FS1 was gone.

Just checked, FS1 is back on dish. Wonder who gave?

And it’s great having dish back since I moved my antenna. Paid all summer for a non working system.

61 going to 80...then maybe some light rain tonight...please.

Go Astros! Dish works hard to prevent these channels from forcing its prices up...plus Charlie has been spending big time on cellular spectrum.

Nice nailer, Eric. Like RNG said, the HF stuff works pretty darn well, but I like your battery operated model.

Don, remember hearing that if you stay up late watching for Santa that he will never come? Same goes for Cold Front man.

Chased another skunk in the dark this morning in the back yard...it got behind a big magnolia and I lost him, but think he took a left turn and ran down the hill to the woods. I wasn't moving too fast. Plus there was a raccoon out there earlier when I got up at 1am looking for Don's cold front.

Sure hope you don't accidentally stumble over one of those lost skunks out there in the dark, Wng. I don't think that would go well for either of you!

A buddy and I used to hunt coyotes together a long while ago. He had one of those battery powered callers, and that screamin' rabbit tape would really pull 'em in. Then one night, it called in a skunk. We watched in horror as it homed in on the caller, until finally I heeded my friends pleas and dumped a load of number fours in the thing before it quite got there. And that was the end of callin' coyotes that night...

Good Monday morning all.
63 going to 82 in cloudy weather, rain holding off until tonight.
What we have forecast isn't enough though, so today out goes the water wagon and I'm watering small trees and shrubs today.
Put the charger on the battery yesterday, gives me enough juice for two 55 gallon fill-ups, by then I'm tired of doing it anyway...
I also have four dead evergreens to pull out today, all died after our month long drought earlier in the year. We are now at three weeks since
significant rain so time for me to water.

Roy, take it slow, and Thomas, take it even slower...

Good morning, unlike for some, seems to be never ending cold and wet fronts here. Too wet to plan on doing anything except the essential outside for most of today. I don't mind too much as I have a new toy to play with.

The last time I wanted to buy some panel pins to fasten hardwood door trim, I couldn't get the length I wanted as everyone else seems to have switched over to nail guns sometime in the last century. I ended up buying panel pins that were too long, cutting them to length and then grinding each to a point. That was a "never again" moment. Well now I have retired the hammer for small work and bought myself an 18 gauge brad nailer.

Pinning wood in place with this while gluing up is a revelation. It is so easy that, like Don with the laser, I almost feel like I'm cheating.

Wng, hope your foot soon recovers. Hopping on one leg while throwing Frisbee must make an intriguing new game for Coco.

Great autumn pics again Check.

Nice tool. I have a trim job I need to do, but I need to research the pins/brads to see what size I need for the job. Might have to look at the long 23 gauge model.....Maybe at harbor freight.

Astros play mid day today.
