When I remove the BH, I have to make a hydraulic hose connection to complete the loop. In normal operation, driving around, mowing, loader work, etc., should that hydraulic connector become too hot to touch with a bare hand?

If your using the 3 point, yes it will get hot. All the fluid from the loader is returning to the 3 point as the "last in line" of the circuit. If your just "driving around", it shouldn't get hot.

Depending on how long you run tractor at some point all hydraulic lines and metal connected to the system gets hot especially if being used its just thermal dynamics!

I can't remember now exactly what I'd been doing or for how long, but I was surprised how hot it was when I brushed my hand across it. Ambient temperature has been far above normal too, so who knows.

I was using the BH today to unload mulch from a trailer, not any digging or hard work. Only about 10 minutest working the full movements/extensions and the fittings were very warm, not quite hot. I would keep an eye on it when you use it and call the dealer if it gets that hot again. I can really see getting very, very warm, almost hot, but not hot enough that you can't touch it. Almost sounds like there is a restriction somewhere.

Got a little warm today. Air temperature around 80-85, so much lower than recent weeks. Doing some mowing in Low and 4WD, up and down some moderate hills in tall grass, but not real tall. About 45 minutes in, I noticed the needle climbing. Mostly up in the high range of the white area, not into the red. I was done anyways, so I dropped in 2WD and High and headed back to the house. Pulled up and the needle was just about to the red, but not quite. Idled down to 1500 or less, opened the hood and pulled the screen. Had quite a bit of fluff, but not fully plugged. Coolant overflow bottle was mid level, not full/overflowing or empty.

Needle started dropping and settled at the blue line mid-point in the white area. Let it idle a few more minutes, then shut it down.

Didn't think to check the rear hydro connector mentioned above.

Don't have much else to do for the next few, so I may putter it around the yard a bit.

I’ve had to clean my screen on several occasions. Temp changes fairly rapidly, but especially downward once cleaned. I’ve seen this with my Kioti and Case as well, so was on the lookout so to speak.

Got out early this morning to mess with the finish mowers I'm trying to recover (another thread). Took a break from that and cranked up the compressor to go at the radiator ... just in case. Opened the hood, pulled the screen, then started on the engine side. Saw what I thought was a big oak leaf. Went to grab it and it wouldn't move .... realized it was a big old Dirt Dauber Nest, one of those 8-10 port condominium jobs. Being built right into the fins, I knew I had to be extra careful. Busted out what I could with a stick and my hand. Hit it with air and got more, but not all. It was almost up under the fan shroud which made it even harder to get at. Decided to try a garden sprayer with water. Pumped it up as much as I could then directed the spray tip and washed most of it away. Took a few tries as the water softened the mud a bit more each time, but it's finally gone. Commenced to blowing out whatever else I could.
