On the 425 I used to have, the tow valve loosened like any other bolt or nut; lefty loosely righty righty. I remember Terry told me that too and it messed me up. I done the same thing you did. He is actually talking about if you are looking down on the pump, you turn the wrench clockwise to loosen the tow valve which releases it so that you can push the machine.

MossRoad, this is the best pic I have. It is from the right side, the pump is behind the oil tank.

I finally found something strong enough to put through the hole of the stem under the pump and turn it, so I am able to put it in tow mode (or in my case push mode, hopefully, lol.).

I am slow in trying to deal with this project/fix/troubleshoot, because it is not a priority at the moment, and the place I am trying to get it into, I need to clean out an area to work on.

Again, thanks to all that have contributed to this thread.

Btw, according to PT this pump does not need a bypass hose, it just has to have the valve under it turned clockwise.
