Kubota L4330 HSTC
Got my tractor stuck (again). Had to leave it yesterday but went back this morning and it initially started. I moved the HST lever to neutral to try to pull it out of the mud. Couldn't get the tractor to start again. I checked the battery with a DVM and it charged. Maybe too high as it was 16 volts. The dash lights come on, turn signal etc. I checked fuses near steering column. Also checked to make sure PTO is off and seat switch seems to be working.

Just doesn't crank. What am I not thinking of?

Doe sound like a safety switch. Something caught the underside? You said stuck?

16 volts is too high.
...but that's probably not why it won't start.

Are you saying that when you turn the key, it doesn't crank over?
Or that it cranks over but it "won't start". ...there's a big difference.

If the former, can you hear solenoid click when you turn key (i.e are all safety switches being made? PTO off?)

Stuck in mud. Don't think anything is caught but will check that out when I get "Unstuck"

I need to take another DVM out and verify. 16 volts does seem really high but I was using a cheap HF meter. Engine does not attempt to turn over or crank. Nothing happens when I turn the key despite the PTO being off, the HST gear in Neutral, Medium or Low and clutch fully depressed.

If no voltage is making it to the starter solenoid, then it seems like a safety switch interlock problem.
Do you know where the PTO safety switch is ?
Is there a safety switch that checks HST pedal(s) are not being pressed?
Check that mud/ruts didn't tear any wiring or bend any linkages or move switches away from their target (pedal neutral position?).

I suppose there a slight chance that a safety switch or key switch burnt out from operating at 16V (or higher ?).

The display was showing HST Neutral. I thought this meant the HST tredal pedal but couldn't find the switch for this. After checking fuses and the battery I found the gear selector switch was disconnected. Plugged it back in and good to go.

Wanted to share the solution in the event someone else has the same issue.

Thanks for all your help. IMG_7898.JPG
