Good morning!!!!

69 this morning and headed to 87 today.

Second cut hay is in for me. Have one more farm to do for dad then we’ll be done for the year. I’m borderline on having enough for the winter. A cold and snowy winter I’ll be fine, but another year like last year and I won’t. 35-40* and rain is harder on animals than a 20* snow.

Drew. Congrats on the RV looks nice. Sorry so many problems so soon.

Eric. I was at Lowe’s yesterday and they had little bundles of white birch fire wood. Advertised as European Split. So my question is how do you guys split wood that’s different?

Good to read those that are sick are getting better.

Kyle nice drawings.

Randy, how big a wedge? Hope OT eval goes as well as thePT eval?
The wedge is about 24 “ wide and I would say it’s 8 “ on one side and 6 on the other.

But we went yesterday and bought a split king adjustable bed, mine firm Ellen’s medium. Not cheap but if I can sleep well it’s well worth it.

My tractor hasn’t been started since mid July. Driveway needs spraying, as well as all the borders around the property. It’s making me nuts!

78 now, yesterday only got to 73. Some clouds and sun today.
Had plans but Ellen’s dad is having bladder issues and is at the ER. BEF, LS I hope your better today.

Ron, I think of you a lot

The wind dropped right down last night, with just enough to waft the heady scent of acres of wilting grass into our back yard while I paused for a few minutes to watch the huge orange moon peep over distant hills. Max looked disapprovingly at me as I closed the gate to the fields. He obviously wanted to try some moonlight hunting for yet more voles before it gets baled. Earlier in the day he had been stockpiling his "secret" cache of this fresh meat. It was funny to see him look left and right over his shoulder, trying to make sure know one was watching as he returned to dig out a hiding place in flower beds. Even if we hadn't seen his furtive excavations, we could have guessed what he had been up to as he came back with his nose covered in soil from pushing back the soil.

Kyle, your daughter is never short of imagination !

We live on the Wales/England border, so there are lots of little castles around here, this is one of the nearest.

Not seen one built in a tree before - maybe they were too worried about water draining from the moat ? :)
Beautiful pic Eric. I'm sure she'd love to see something like that.

It's fun reading about Max's clandestine activities.

I need some seat time. Tractors have not ran since June

I hope you get some tractor time soon. Sounds like you are getting better and better by what you are telling us.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

An overcast 45ºF for today's low, intermittent rain showers/rain all morning with the current temperature at 58ºF, and I expect less rain and temperature maxing out in the mid 60ºF's and maybe some increasing sunshine this PM. Seasonal temperatures and dry conditions most of next week; warmer closer to the weekend. I got dog walk #1 and the dump run done before it started raining. Not much planned other than going to that nearby recently reopened restaurant that we like. Tomorrow I start prepping for my pending colonoscopy & endoscopy.:(

Kyle- Your daughter has amazing artistic talent. I like her magical theme with this artwork. I hope that she, you, and family have a decent weekend.

Eric- Thanks for sharing the castle picture, and Max story.

Roy- I am sorry to read about your aborted trip up Mt. Washington. I really like the weather observatory. An amazing video of the observatory during the Winter:
Breakfast of Champions, Mt. Washington, NH Wind - Original Video 1990 - YouTube

BEF- I am happy to read that you made some more progress with the STDI; LWOP from your employer and missed back pay
:( :censored:. In addition to the normal daily costs of living and now all the medical bills incoming without expected income is another unnecessary aggravation and stress to your body with which to deal.

BEF & Randy- I hope you both continue to gain strength, endurance, and mobility and that neither of you have the startup challenges with your tractors as I had starting mine.

I hope that everyone is having a decent start to the weekend.

My + thoughts and prayers.

I just did a quick read through 5 pages of postings... man is this a fast thread.
Tires, the new sensors, they are nice but a pita when it come to changing tires and as all have stated 4x's need all four tire as close to the same diameter as possible... all of the time !
Good to hear all is getting be the group of sick people we have on here... God Speed in your recovery !
Castles, never seen an English Castle in person but it is on the Bucket List, also a Beatles Tour too !

Adjustable Bed, my next purchase, also it has to be an air mattress, not the one with the motor under the bed, the one with the cross tubes and an automatic value that adjusts the mattress when you get in. Can't pull the name out of the Hat right now, but I have had one without the adjustability for over seven years, yes it needs replacement but the cost of the new one is hard to get over.

76 here this AM, headed to triple digits, got some of the trench cleaned up, pulled the PVC Electrical Piping out of the barn, some 90's, and the adhesive. Not going to get much done outside today but I will get an early start tomorrow AM.

About PVC Piping... how do you all cut it, Hacksaw or Tubing Cutter ? I have always just used the Hacksaw, cleaned the ens and used some Scotchbrite on the ends before sticking it together; which beings up another thought... ! what are we using for adhesives now-a-days ?
Does anyone use the newer Clearing/Adhesive all in one ? I've always used the two agents, works well but there is an alternative.

Hope all get better fast.

Iast time I used a battery powered Makita saber saw to cut the PVC, and with a fine hacksaw blade, it worked great! Still stuck with the separate primer and glue, though the glue was a new to me 'hot" type that seemed to work well. I like your idea of ScotchBrite before priming, but I have just been spending extra time with the primer to get the dirt off...

Good Morning!!!! 80f @ 9:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 97F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

The zebra bike is all packed for another motorcycle rally in Quincy, CA, a couple hours up the Feather River Canyon from here. Heard on the news that the Oro Quincy Highway, that's been closed due to a washout almost two years ago, reopened last night, so I'll go that way instead. After another delicious breakfast at Jenn's ths morning first, though.:licking:

Made good progress in swapping out the cylinders on the red bike yesterday, but too far from finishing to be ready in time for this ride. It was also very warm working in the garage yesterday, and the thought of spending another hot one out there today was easily overwhelmed by the thought of meeting friends and drinking cool adult beverages in the cooler weather in the mountains. The rally this year is a YOYO (You're On Your Own), presumably because the club that usually hosts it couldn't get enough members motivated to do the work. Should be interesting to see who shows up and how well they cope with the OYO part. The only change I'm making to my usual kit is to ad a six pack collapsable cooler, and I'll stop in town on the way to the site and fill it up with ice and appropriate beverages.

The temps are supposed to be cooler Monday with the front coming through, so work in the garage can wait 'till then. I will need to get the firetruck under some kind of tarp arrangement Sunday afternoon, though...

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend, and hopefully cooler fall like weather.

73°F and .25 inches rain. Hope to get some brushhogging in today. Spent a couple hours on the rotary cutter yesterday, new lift pins, a few new bolts, tightened others. Really need a lot of deck work at some point.

George, my concrete guy coming up this morning to look at a potential project, a carport up at the cottage.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
