Happy Hour Happy Hour, ding ding ding

major boomers outside rattling house, rain pouring down,

Ted, good luck with the knee. You need a new approach,
and at least for my older brother, he's back playing tennis with his totally new knee. Must feel good in some way
to have a new door to go through. One more step backwards and a whole lot more forward.
I'm planning on coming through there on Route 40 in mid April, will have to see how
the patient is doing then.

A few showers early but nothing notable. Very warm and humid for the next few days with some more 90s, I thought we were past them.

BEF, glad you’re doing better all the time.
I’m walking almost entirely with a cane or nothing. It’s giving my legs a workout!
I drove to the drugstore and doctors office today, first driving since late July.
I filled out papers to try and get a better deal on my Brilinta, cheapest now is $167 month copay.
Ron, thinking of you bud.
LS, I hope you get those knees fixed soon.
Prayers for all.

^^^ I was happy to read that 3 of the 4 trapped crew have been rescued and the SAR personnel are figuring out a way to rescue the 4th.

Well I finally got some real seat time this PM. Surprisingly, the NH started right up w/o incident; ran for ~ 3 minutes before it started lugging and belching the dreaded white smoke  before dying:( Luckily I was staying close to the house "just in case." With the old fingers locking up and reduced grip strength it took some time and spilled fuel getting the water out of the fuel system, but it's running again and I still got in an hour moving wood chips to various areas around the house. I was wearing enough fuel to necessitate disrobing outside the house before entering.... If it starts and runs tomorrow I plan on going farther afield moving rocks around.

baked some cranberry orange muffins to give my driver tomorrow morning, she can drink her decaf and eat a muffin on the way.
added some extra Valencia orange zest on top and it made the whole house smell nice.

fire ants are everywhere, dosing dozens of mounds a day. Slowly they will die off, until the next big rain.
Alien invaders for sure.

The temperature dropped from 94° to 73° in about 40 minutes and we got a short rain storm.

Now ...... I have to remember where our two rain gauges are?? I’ve not had to visit them much this summer.

the pictures of the Bahamas are really sad. The last time I was on Grand Bahamas Island
was going into Freeport on some long Caribbean cruise, a shore excursion
and definitely a port I could skip, and never went back to.
The bazaar or shopping area there was so tacky, so cheesily built,
I remember mentioning to my wife that the whole place looked like it would flatten in a hurricane.
And sure enough it did. It's what happens in a poor country where modern building codes
aren't affordable or realistic for locals. They really have to start from scratch there, going to be a lot of tent cities.

Sending best wishes to Ron for comfort and contentment in each new day.

The 4th crewman is trapped, in the engineers control room by a “glass wall” ??

I hope he can soon find the Engineer’s ..... BIG ROCK or HUGE SPANNER WRENCH?
