How does your garden grow?

Monarch butterflies need milkweed.

I let two acres grow in milkweed for 3-5 years,,

We had a few butterflies,,

it is now a mess,, I have mowed it 4 times this year,, and I have zero control over the milkweed,,

Next year,, it will get 2,4-D until I obliterate the milkweed,,,

My garden this year has been not bad and not great . . . but I am still able to have plenty to give to our local church's help program.

What kind of walnuts are those? They don't look anything like the walnuts or the leaves we have in Mich. [ black walnuts ]

I do not know what variety it is, possibly a franquette. This year I planted a franquette but it will be years before that one produces. We have a few others (one them in the picture below) that bear a little earlier but are not as productive and not quite as good tasting.


My black walnuts have significantly different looking leaves.
