Hey, I do the same thing sometimes over in FP... I guess if you are that passionate about your opinion, you get muffed when people disagree with it. No harm, no foul... :drink:

I have no problem with people who cannot find work, I have a problem with those who see it as a lifestyle and I contribute to the fund to support them.
Probably gardeners with your analogy as they fork over the system.

When someone has had a comfortable life, or at least it ended up that way, it's easy to call people that don't work lazy. Many people with a lot of education out there working some pretty menial jobs. That doesn't leave a lot of work for many who don't have much in the way of skills. Sure, almost anyone COULD probably find work, with great effort, but I think that's asking a bit much. And still st the end of the day, they would make far less than social assistance.

Cut or eliminate that social assistance except for those verifiably unable to work and I bet they would start looking for a job.

I bet they would also.. I know people that are scamming like crazy, claiming disability, sneaking around during the day and mowing the lawn and doing other daytime tractor work at night with flood lights on, riding motorcycles and chopping wood.. Makes me sick..

Their property's are closed up tighter than a clamshell at low tide until dark..

Mandatory drug testing for anyone getting assistance (including spouses) would go a long way...but the bleeding hearts say that's too mean...!

Not saying I approve of Social assistance by any stretch of the imagination. Sometimes it's the hardest working people that abuse the handouts and assistance the most. Many, many years ago, a friends father worked concrete construction in the summer, collected Pogy (UI) all winter, while he tended to the house, and the wife worked a factory job. Not illegal, but not really in the spirit that Pogy was intended either. Now when I see that, I just say, good for you. Better, you than someone getting the money that has never put a nickle (or once of sweat) into our system.
