Need to pour first cup of coffee. 64ー with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 77ー with afternoon sun. Another round of thunderstorm passed thru our little town yesterday. More homes and business lost power. Looks like most of them got power back late yesterday evening. Was in town thought I would get a car wash. Closed no power. Crazy weather. 600,000 homes lost power in the last 1 1/2 weeks. Electric company needs to spend more money on line maintenance. Instead of renewable energy. Lawn mowing is on list today.

Wifes test yesterday were OK. But latest hospital and Dr visits are showing that her disease is slowly advancing.

Def38 your dog is cute. We got a puppy 2 months ago today. I am finding out it has decided that giving me more exercise than I need is it's goal in life. 5 month update. She now weighs 5.8 lbs. Parents were both 8 lbs. Avatar picture of our Muffin is now 14 years old.

Buckeye and Randy, good to get reports on your recovery. Prayers sent.

Eric, tell Max he needs to get out and herd the sheep into next pasture.

DABSGT, great pictures.

David, are you going to paint canopy blue?

Good Morning All.

Good morning! Whipper has been for her walk, 73˚F heading to the upper 90s. We had some cloud cover after 6PM yesterday helping to bring down this mornings temps.

Yesterday at the Honda dealership the new truck said 99˚F, the new truck at the Chevrolet dealership said 100˚F and the new truck at the Ford dealership said 103˚F. It was too hot after that to play at the GMC, Jeep and Toyota dealerships. The placing so far is Ranger 1st in features, Colorado 1st in ride, and Ridgeline 1st in back seat and bed. They say my 08 F150 is only worth 3K so I might keep it till it's worth 1K. I may have to wait till KIA starts making their pick-up.

Buckeye good to hear from you early, but not this early, glad to see the usually month long disease only lasted 3ish weeks before turning around. Has the doctor told you how long to expect the recovery to be?

Bird I think August is also the hottest Month in Texas with the most 100+ days.

Eric, I don't think Ginger or Sassy would be interested in Max unless his pic is on a big masculine tractor.:D

67 this morning and headed to 86 today.

Need to do some shopping for a bigger chain saw for this clearing project. Looking at the 460 Rancher from Husqvarna with 24” bar. Have a good 18” 400 Echo but it’s under powered for what I’m getting ready to do.

Thanks for the info on the generator. Will probably be getting one of those soon too.

Have yet to decide what I’ll get into today.

Welcome to the new faces.

For anyone trying to be organic the propane torch (weed burner) is a good alternative,
many people don't realize that they don't have to pour the heat to the weeds,
all it needs is a quick wave of the torch on the leaves if you just make them look wet it has got it.

That’s what I’ve found in my research. Getting ready for almost a mile of page wire fencing to be installed and won’t be allowed to spray chemicals inside it or on it. (Sore subject around here.) So I will be going the weed burner route for its maintenance as all it will do is chew up weed eater string.

The goal is just enough heat to destroy the cellular structure of the plant. Don’t have to burn to off. The trick maybe finding that point.

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 5:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 98F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Last night the weather guesser called our current weather a cool off, which I suppose after the last week of 100F+ days, it is. High 90s predicted for the rest of the week, then back to the century mark for Sunday. Maybe cooling back down into the 90s again later next week. That's typical for this time of year, but it doesn't make it any more enjoyable. Sometimes, though, the fog down in the SF Bay Area cools the inbound winds enough to create what's come to be known as a Delta Breeze, a cool air current that can reach us here all the way up on the northern end of the Sacramento Valley. Last night was such a time, and the house is opened up for the first time in weeks. Ahhhhh...

Always nice to hear from new folks in the Good Morning!!!! thread!

Good luck with your new truck search, Don. I bet you're running into more buzzers and whistles than you've ever seen in a pickup truck before, huh?:confused2:

Finished painting two more eves yesterday, just two more to go. This is clearly one of those jobs to be savored in small doses over a long time, so I'll give it a rest for the next couple of days...

Tried again to get the big enduro bike running right yesterday, and finding no issues with the carbs, checked timing again. It was off, and the rotor on the front of the alternator was loose. I'd used an aluminum washer under it, and apparently the heat had expanded it and when it cooled off again the rotor loosened up. Got rid of the washers and substituted a stainless steel spacer, but it took two tries to get one the right thickness and flat. Now all I have to do is get the rotor set in just the right position, which means holding both the crank and the rotor still while the bolt is tightened. I made up a piston lock from an old spark plug and a big screw, and a pin wrench has sorta been working for the rotor, but it still requires holding my tongue in just the right place to end up where it needs to be. Maybe today will be my lucky day?:confused2:

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Don, it's been 3.5 weeks now, so the tide should be turning. Feeling better each day, just a little more movement each day..
Took my bath in bed, waiting for 1st PT of today. PT and OT people are great. Nothing like pretty young females taking care of you.
