Buckeye, good catch on the brain scan! One day at a time, hope it improves.
Mowed for three hours, neighbor never came over for my help, turns out he borrowed another friends new 3035 JD with a grapple and used
that instead, R4's would dig up his lawn less, and I sure agreed. So only seat time was mowing, but at least it's just a lovely day out. Mowed the fruit orchard too
and ate a couple of admittedly too green apples off a couple of trees.
stumped the local JD parts guy, needed bushings for gage wheels on mower deck of JD X750, and those bushings no longer show up
in the parts diagram. I looked, the parts guy looked, and he said he was stumped, could I bring it in. Sure...three inch long bushings through which the bolt goes and the plastic wheel spins on the bushing. After 600 hours two of my bushings had totally failed, and eaten the metal through on one side.
Maybe that's why they changed to a different design without bushings. But ID of new plastic (delrin?) wheel is too big for bolt without wobble; bushing served a purpose.
I wonder if they use a bigger bolt instead on current model...going to take one whole assembly in with me, and hopefully not get sucked into buying something green and expensive there.
Like their nice green grease.
