Who wants to know why more about DC Electronics? Ohms law part 1 and part 2

Why is this on a tractor forum? Because often tractors won't start due to High resistance connections, or high resistance INSIDE of the battery. And understanding of ohm's law will help you understand what to look for and why. Part 1 describes Ohms law, and part 2 offers some examples.
This is all pretty rudimentary stuff, but if you understand the basics you will know more than 99 percent of the rest of the public.

Well, it's a 'type' of magic... it's Magic Smoke! If you let the Magic Smoke out of the device it won't work anymore.

Electronics and electricals are different subjects of discussion. Electronics have carriers and holes and stuff that only physics needs to care about.

But I have learned a thing or two over the years.

Most important is that electricity and water have a lot in common.

Next is that VOLTS are unscrupulous tasks masters that drive amps.

Next is that AMPS have done all the work that has ever been done by electricity in the past 8 billion years. Dumb Brutes!

Next is that Ohms is the only thing keeping Amps from rising up and burning down all the connections that Volts rely on to carry about their business. Ohms are actually pretty honest folks, and I usually ask their opinion on any electrical troubles before asking Volts or Amps about it.

Ohms do not keep Amps from rising up and ..... Ohms cause the restriction of the electron flow and create heat... Ohms are bad for current flow .... Bad Ohms... Bad, just Bad .....

[ I had all my electrical training back when they taught that the holes go from positive to negative, and the electrons flow from negative to positive, Columbus discovered America, they put the phrase ' under God ' into the pledge of allegiance, etc... LONG ago ]

It's not the ohms that make the heat. It's those moving AMPS! And I don't blame their impatience, with those merciless Volts whipping *** behind them.
