Need to pour first cup of coffee. 56° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 89° with afternoon thunderstorms. Lawn and fields cut yesterday. May have spent to much time in the sun. Going to be a relax day. Did spend a few minutes on Amazon. Ordered a new Fire TV. Original unit we have remote died. Cheaper to replace whole unit then buy a new remote.

Buckeye, Randy and others get well soon. Prayers sent.

Thomas, I had to check. 79 day until 10/3. Just in time to start blowing leaves.

Buppies, that is hot to be doing paving. Looks like we are going to have mid 90's on Friday. Going to be a conserve energy day.

Good Morning All.

Good morning 72 heading to 90 few errands to run then heading to the lake grass cutting day, dogs not happy going to stay home.
Pj just amazing what dogs can be trained to do. I was a K9 handler early in my career then supervised the unit. Best partner I ever had never had to worry about him turning tail and running. Biggest baby ever at home but once it was work time all business. He could go from doing a demo in a class of small children and playing with them to a riot. Trained in tracking, evidence recovery, building search and of course keeping me out of harm's way.
Hope everyone has a great day stay safe. Prayers for all

ditto what buppies said on the weather.

Yesterday, I started early on a simple task of putting up an a/c unit in the barn. The grain room and tack room where the cats hang out has to be cool you know. LOL. I was drenched in about five minutes, and sunburned shortly after that. I figured it was the least hottest part of the day. Unfortunate the sun just beats down on that side where I was working.

Well the cats are cool and the tack is back at a normal temp, so all is well. My count for four hours work, three water and two gatorades. Two shirts, two hats, and one jump in the pool. The temp here is now such that the water and air temps "feel" equal. I sink in the deep end just to cool off. Sigh...........

Hope all have a good start to the work week.

Hope all are on the mends.

Thomas, I keep going back to your 45 years.....that is quite an accomplishment. Heck, some jobs I had, lucky if I kept my mouth shut for 45 seconds. LOL. NEXT. LOL.

Good morning, prayers for BEF to rest and heal.

Man this heat is something! Everyday is a repeat of the day before, today is the cool day at 89, supposed to be 98 by Saturday. I can’t take it like I use to.

My apple tree is really full this year and the apples are blushing, I’m not sure how to tell when they’re ripe.

Have a good day all.

70 going to 91.

Prayers for Randy and Buckeye to steadily improve...and for Dabsgt's MIL and Randy's mom.

Great Ross Perot stories, Eric and Bird. Thanks for sharing.

Rip, I know what you're talking about...except I waited until about 5pm to work outside...I scraped out the mower deck...even though I try to only mow once the grass has dried, there has been enough moisture in the grass to cause it to clump thick and hard. I even found several maggots crawling in one clump...never seen that before...I guess the warmth from decomposition helped them. Dragging the tarp I used to catch the clumps felt as though it weighed 100 lbs.

Then took off the blades and sharpened them. When I came in at 7:30pm, the porch thermometer said 101F but it did have some sun coming in on it through the screen.

I've been using this torque adapter when remounting the blades for the last year and am really impressed with how it works.

My daughter and SIL have vegan friends so some plant based food are always on the menu. This year was a first though as the clear disposable drink cups and forks were plant based (corn starch) too as a younger generation start to turn their back on unnecessary plastics.

Eric do you compost the corn starch plastic cups and forks or do they head to the landfill to decompose next to the forever plastic?

A topic to discuss with your plant based friends is the brand new Virgin Voyages cruise line that will also serve vegan dishes and they are cutting their plastic use in half. (But tell them to consider winter cruises when the Caribbean temps are in the mid 80s to avoid the hurricanes)

"More than 200 vegan meals will be served on board the ship at breakfast, lunch, and dinner times, and its signature restaurant, called Razzle Dazzle, will hold a ç*ºegetarian forward focus. All of its vegan and vegetarian meals are inventive and made with consciously sourced ingredients." Virgin Voyages Just Added 2 Vegan Meals to Its Cruise Ships (Updated July 219) | LIVEKINDLY (that's 200 vegan meals)

A bit older ship but nice is the MSC ship where once a year vegans take over half the ship with their group. Most of these people are not the tree huggers but health conscious. Experts give conferences on days at sea and new research is presented. Just looking at the expert guest speakers causes you to say Wow.

Good morning! 75-95 with lots of sun. Cards this evening They tore me up last week After the first set of games I'm staring this quarter's ranking at #40 after 4 losses.

Mostly, my neighbor has a two speed (turtle and rabbit button) extended range 72V ez go golf cart that would match your needs. So they do make them. She says she can go 30 mph play 18 holes and still have more than half the battery charge, She thinks about a 12 mile range. I'm trying to stay with the gold cart instead of utility cart because of legal reasons on the street. Utility vehicles are allowed here if you are part of the paid maintenance contractors.

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 5:30AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 96F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

We had a small apple tree in the backyard of the house I was born into, Randy. I could tell that the apples were ripe when the birds started pecking on them, and I could swallow a bite instead of spitting it out because it was so sour.

Sounds like all the work put into keeping up the pool is paying off big time, Mike!

Yesterday morning was dead calm, and I thought it was a perfect time to spray a little glyphosate on the yellow star thistle that is sprouting along the driveway. Thought I'd be done in an hour at most. But once I got the tank loaded and went up there, the thistle was much more widespread than I thought, and four hours later I'd put out almost 150 gallons of 3% solution. I could do a lot more spraying, but I've come to the realization that some of the land here is just going to have to take care of itself, it either being too steep or far enough away from the house so as not to pose a fire hazard.

Body man neighbor down the street offered to let me throw some junk into the 40 cubic yard dumpster he'd rented, so I gathered up an old BBQ that had been burned in the fire and the remnants of the PVC pipe and drip tube I'd dug up and headed down. Well he had that dumpster packed almost to the brim, and the darn thing was about ten feet high! The PVC didn't take much room, but I had to climb up into the thing to move branches and wood around to make room for the BBQ. Both of us managed to haul it up and in, and it'll be nice to have it gone. To thank him, I gave him the tourniquet I was given in the first aid class I took a couple weeks ago. Figured it might come in handy for him if he tried to cut his leg off again with his chainsaw, and he laughed when I handed it to him.:D

Spent the rest of the day, what little there was, mapping wires for the new instrument on the enduro bike, but I've some questions that will take some time on the telephone this week to answer. About then, Body man neighbor came down and we enjoyed a couple beers on the patio, and was surprised to learn that his 17 year old son doesn't have a job for the summer. My friend wasn't any too happy, either, but apparently the kid has made a few bucks flipping cars, with a LOT of dad's help, and figures he can just coast 'till school starts again. My friend, on the other hand, is sick and tired of working his butt off on the kid's projects, especially when the kid doesn't reciprocate around the house, and it sounds like there'll be a Come To Jesus meeting between the two this week to set a new normal. At that age, me and my friends always had jobs in the summertime, it was when we could make some real money, maybe even buy our first car. Kids these days, not so much I guess.:confused2::eek:

Monday again. Hope the week gets off to a great start for everyone!

And we are still cutting grass, today looks like I will be on the mowers again. It's mid July! The grass is super lush, green and growing.

Take it easy is all I can say.
