Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 5:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High around 90F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Nice cave pic, Wng. No wind to disturb the water deep underground, huh?

Are your melon plants producing up to par, Drew?

Hope you get the results you're looking for on the tests, Bird.

Good luck with that 2N, DAB. Hope it's something simple.

This hot weather has brought on algae blooms in the local waterways, and now some are testing positive for toxins. Warnings to stay out of the water, not eat the fish, and keep children and dogs away. Never heard of this when I was a kid, and I wonder if it's always been that way and there was no way of telling?

Headed over closer to the coast for an old fashioned Forth of July in one of the smaller towns. Parade, fireworks, good food, and some motorcycling. Hope everyone enjoys the holiday!:firecracker:

Have they ever investigated aeration with submerged air stones and air pumps RNG?

headed downtown with my melons, the larger lighter green ones are Clay County Yellow Meat watermelons and the
small ones are icebox red melons, maybe Crimson Sweet

I've always liked yellow meat watermelons, but they are sure hard to find around here. The last one I bought (3 or 4 years ago) was at the local 3 day a week Farmer's Market. I got it home split it . . . only to find that it was a long ways from being ripe; absolutely worthless.

Good Morning. Its 73°F and very foggy here this morning. Forecast says we'll see only 87°F this afternoon with 30-50% chance of rain.

I'll spend the day getting ready for Independence Day guests.

Wng ... very nice picture.

Mr. Bird ...Good luck with your tests today.

Roy .... hope your wife gets better.

DAB ... hope you can get your 2N going. Fuel, air, spark. That's all you need. . Points, coil, plugs?

Hope everyone has an excellent "Hump Day Eve".

Prayers to all.

Good morning all,

50 something this morning and a few white puffy clouds around with no wind.

Have a few things to do this morning then I might rake my field so it'll be ready to bale tomorrow.

Prayers for all, have a nice day.

Good morning to all! Low of 52, cool and crisp this morning. We had a quick t-storm roll through yesterday afternoon, only .25 of rain, but that was welcome. Another chance (20%) today. Going up to 90 today.

Got the third and final shot in the knee yesterday. The knee was swollen when I arrived at the Dr's office, so he got a surprise. All of my other appointments had been very early so the swelling wasn't as bad. He now "believes" me when I told him that it usually swells by mid day. He says the shots have a 50/50 chance of helping within the next 30 days. Then a reevaluation and ??? Not exactly what I wanted to hear. The knee was very uncomfortable last night and this morning, not the results that I was anticipating. Oh well.

The neighbor lady (70ish and on her own) got a Cub Cadet tractor delivered yesterday. She was anticipating that she could just jump on it and go..... Nope ....it's in a crate and needs some assembly and setup. Guess who she asked to do it? That's ok, it will be fun and give me something to do. I wish they delivered it here...would be easier to put it together in the shop. She doesn't even have a car port, so it will be in the gravel drive. She has no tools, so I'll be going back and forth for tools I'm sure....

Wng, nice pics of the cavern. Reminds me of a motorcycle trip wifey and I took to Carlsbad Caverns. It was an all day trip in the caverns and we still didn't get to see everything down there...it was huge!

Randy, hope your still recovering, the big day is approaching fast!

Jay, glad your enjoying your mini trips...all beautiful areas.

David, thanks for the pics, can't wait to see the next batch. Have fun and enjoy!

Don, you gotta be careful with those bubble snakes, I hear that they make a popping sound just before they attack!

Drew, nice melons! (Mmmm, that doesn't sound right....)

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent for all!

76°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 90° today with a chance for some pop-up storms this afternoon. iThingie weather widget shows a chance for storms every day for the foreseeable future. Great.

Got home from work yesterday and took the line trimmer for a walk. That was a sweaty ordeal, but needed to be done. I was covered with beggar's lice when I finished the area around the side of the barn. There was a message on the home phone that the zero-turn is ready for pick-up. Be nice to have that back in service.

I generally try to avoid killing snakes as well, Drew. 90% or better around here aren't poisonous, and help keep the rodent population in check.

77 this morning and headed to 90 today. HI 88 headed to 103.

I am headed to pickup a tractor from BIL. I’ve got to get chicken houses washed so I’ll be spending next 2 days soaked in water so HI shouldn’t bother me too bad. Dealer wants $500 to change $35 wheel seal. Wife says let them as I don’t have time and it can be ready when I get back from vacation. So I get to schedule that today and hopefully I’ll drop it off Friday. Not really impressed with the hours of service I got from that seal. But I also do a lot of loader work and have noticed quite a bit of wear on pins already also. I do try to use rear ballast when I can but sometimes it just isn’t possible. Mainly feeding hay. Take out two bales, well there’s a point you have to lift one bale without ballast. Plenty of stability just a lot of pressure on axle.

Integrator was out yesterday and marked off for fence on free range birds. I’m not looking forward to this fiasco. Really dreading it. Are happy chickens worth unhappy producers?

Roy. Hope your wife gets better.

Drew maybe you won’t find a pallet of other watermelons at food bank this week. Did you make a years supply of pickles from your unneeded cucumbers?

Pretty sure there's no budget to cover the thousands of acres of lake surface effected by the algae, Rick. Might work in a small pond, though.

Actually RNG the deeper the defuser the more water it treats. Placing that thing down a couple hundred feet will treat a lot of water. More time for the water to absorb the oxygen. A system for my 12 foot deep 1 acre lake was about 2k. But I could go with a smaller unit if I dug the lake out to 20 feet.
