Jim calling me a plain "Pom" is a term of endearment ;).
I would only get worried if he used it with a few Viking verbs, or worst of all, called me a "Whinging Pom" :) ?

Generally anybody from England is referred to as a Pom. I have a step-son who has been living in London for so long I call him a Pom too.
Way back in the fifties the gubbermint was encouraging population increase and £10 bought a subsidised ticket UK to NZ on either the Captain Hobson or the Captain Cook. The people who came out were (and still are) known as "ten pound poms". I have a distant cock-relation who is one. She is happy that we refer to her as that.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 60° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 82° with lots of bright shining sun. Got old computer sent back to Costco. Shingles were delivered yesterday. Workers are scheduled for this morning. Good weather for installing shingles. Maybe not for the workers. 10 to 20 mph winds should help. No plans other than watch removal and install.

Those recovering get well soon. Prayers sent.

Eric, were you Whinging. :D

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 71˚F bright cloudless sky. With the 3.5 " of rain we had yesterday the fireWise cleanup has been canceled this morning.

Yesterday after the rain at 3PM it was 69˚ and my wife had to put on a sweater walking Whipper, now that is nice for Texas in late June.

Have to do some Mom work today, they want to put a pipeline across her property and they have registered with the Rail Road commission as a common carrier and can enforce eminent domain. What do you think my chances of getting a "Favorite Nation" clause in the easement agreement? And then there is AT&T with her direct TV that billed her $240 for a "free" upgrade of equipment so she can maintain her local stations - I see at least an hour on the phone trying to get this straight.

Won three of five hand and foot games last night and am in 30th place. Next week we start a new quarter and I start even with the group instead of 20 games behind trying to play catch-up.

A good gym and swim day this afternoon.

Good morning all,

Been several days since posting. I was out of town visiting my sons and enjoying the Utah summer games.

45 to start the morning with mostly clear skies. The wind is supposed to pick up today, hope for just a strong breeze and not an outright wind.

Found out last night my nephew took his life. He was going through an ugly/prolonged divorce, I guess it was more than he could deal with. Sure wish he had reached out to someone before taking that final step.

Prayers for all, I wish the best for everyone.

78 now going to 92. Got a little rain last evening and overnight.

No Whinging Poms here, but we did have a winging hawk flying and walking around the front yard this morning. It was an immature red-tail hawk that was raised in our woods, and came over to try to catch a rabbit or chipmunk. It landed on the roof of my wife's SUV and watched a rabbit...but didn't catch it. I don't know why it walked on the ground so far, but it then jumped back up onto a low branch.

Always thought resistors were like older socket sets, could never figure out the number on them.
today's socket sets have great big numbers on them. Resistors?...

Maybe it's just my old eyes, but the numbers on my vaunted Snap-On sockets are almost illegible. I end up reaching for the magnifiers, moving to good light, and spinning them a couple of times to see what they are. All the more reason to keep them on their clearly numbered pegs in the tool drawer, and put them back there as soon as the job is done. It also shows that Snap-On's competition is getting better all the time, and the old company has been resting on its laurels for far too long.:2cents:

Funny, I don't seem to have the same problem with resistors...

Good morning to all! Low of 44, going up to 88 today, sunny. Tomorrow brings in slightly cooler temps, higher humidity, and a chance of t-storms. We need the rain. I can't complain about the temps at all!

Errands on the agenda for today, then ??

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent for all.
