I have 2007 L3400DT that will not start. I have traced it back to the fuel control solenoid. I was thought the solenoid was the problem but after checking the plug to the solenoid with a voltmeter with the key on or with the key in the start position I get no voltage to the solenoid. I didn't find any bad fuses in the fuse block under the dash so now I don't know where to look. Any suggestions. By the way I'm no mechanic, just learning as I go.

Study the page I have attached. You likely have an Operator Presence Control on your tractor and it is intimately involved in when the engine can run.

Seat switches are a common issue.

Would the key stop solenoid be the same as the fuel control solenoid? I've tried to follow the wire back to a relay or something of the sort but have a hard time doing that. The plug that has no power goes into a solenoid mounted on the right side in front of the injector pump. From what I can tell that is the only thing in the fuel system that is electrical. I may be way off but I arrived at this conclusion because I get no fuel to the injectors.

I would suggest you hook your test meter up to the input of the solenoid you are speaking about and see what happens when you have the key in the run position then switch the key off. Mine has a delay on release timer that activates the solenoid and the solenoid shuts the fuel off with the key. The circuit then drops power after a brief time and the solenoid goes dead.

From my look at the WSM, the L3400 has the "no power-no fuel," solenoid system. Different from the models where a timer powers the solenoid to cut off the fuel for long enough for the engine to stop.

There is a relay controlling the engine stop solenoid that would be the next thing to check.

Can you tell me where the relay for the fuel control is located, I don.t eve know what it looks like?

I have attached a picture I found showing where the Glow Plug relay is located. Likely the Engine Stop relay is one of the ones beside the Glow relay but I cannot say for certain.

I think you have to remove the dash or Intellipanel to get to the relays so you may want to consider getting help from someone familiar with these tractors as you could easily turn a small problem into a much bigger one.

Thanks, I believe you're right. I'm going to call local tractor mechanic. Your help is greatly appreciated.

One more question if you don't mind. Is there a fuse in this circuit?
