Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

43ºF for today's low temperature. The rain showers started ~ 6AM. It's a rainy 47ºF presently. The rain should be ending soon with temperatures hopefully reaching the high 60ºF's. I strained some muscle groups in my back moving some rocks yesterday morning, but in the PM ended up taking in some culture at the Williams College's Art Museum before having an early dinner at a decent restaurant with an excellent view of the Berkshire "Mountains." The restaurant is pictured at this hairpin turn that is famous. At least one 18 wheeler rolls here annually. It's an awesome turn for the performance minded in a vehicle that can handle it. There was still snow in the shaded areas at the higher elevations. Weather will determine today's plan. I really need to prep the garden. I do not like working outside in the rain.

David- Congratulations!!!!!! Your perseverance paid off big time:cool: You deserve a day off.;)

I hope everyone has a decent Friday and better weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

It's raining again now, but fingers are crossed for a halt before a pair of buddies arrive on their motorcycles around noon. They're stopping by for a meal and a sleep on their way to Idaho, where one of them will look for a suitable place to retire. Not sure how well that'll work: He's a native Californian and not used to harsh winters where motorcycles hibernate for half the year.

Lots of shaking of heads and staring at shoes at the Kubota dealer when I showed them the broken tractor axle yesterday. They all could see how the crack had been propagating long before it failed, and that the notch and reduced diameter at the crack location was the cause. The new part was dimensionaly the same, but did feature a radius on one side of the thread relief notch. One of the techs did a search of Kubota's knowledge base for similar failures, but no surprise it didn't turn up anything. They'd never heard of the FEL mount failures, either, even though several other instances were documented at here on TBN and other tractor sights, and the new mounts came heavily reinforced right from the factory. No offers to contact anyone up the Kubota chain, either. So it's good to know the new axle will fit and get the tractor going again, but it's not enough to change my mind about keeping it, or eliminating Kubota as the manufacturer of it's replacement. I did make a mistake when I failed to order a replacement nut for the axle, which of course was not in stock at the dealer. But with this week's continuing rains, there's no hurry getting the tractor off the jack stands, as I want to give the grasses and weeds at least another week to grow and hopefully dry out, and even then I'm giving some thought to making the next and hopefully last mowing this year with a rented track loader.

If the boys arrive today according to plan, we'll all ride down to the Sierra Nevada brewery for lunch and then wander over to another buddy's who does the custom work. Time to check on his 4WD Cadillac project, anyway.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Makes you wonder where the best place is to live if you're a motorcyclist....

I thought I was the only one who could break stuff like nobody else has....

Hmmm... Perhaps I should broaden my track loader search just a bit?

Everyone should have one of those...maybe 2. :)

Having coffee, but have already sprayed some roundup on some areas. Picked about a gallon size of green beans. Looks like we somehow got some Italian flat beans mixed into our green bean seeds. ???

Tilled in between rows to at least try to knock some weeds down before the storms come.

Good morning to all! Low of 46, only up to 70 today, breezy already, supposed to get windy by noon.

Congrats to David on making the breakthrough.... I'm curious also as to how it was accomplished....

Drew, as long as your enjoying yourself....have fun looking for that special friend!

RNG, good luck in your search...so many possible choices...so many costs...hope you find the right match for your needs.

I had a chance to go over the tractor yesterday, didn't find any loose bolts. Lots of grease zerks that didn't get anything more than the initial assembly grease. Today will get out the grease gun and hit them all with the good stuff!

Today will also involve taking the mower deck off of the garden tractor and clean it again. I'm positive that thr blades will need sharpening also. Between the greasing and sharpening, the day will probably be gone.....

Everyone have a great Friday! Prayers sent out for all.

Oh, and maybe if I get the chance, install 3 bucket hooks on the new loader, and mount a couple of small tool boxes on the tractor. Found a good spot for them yesterday, just have to make some brackets for them.

Rick, I have to let you know that John at RCO tractor really stepped up to the plate! He sent me 3 cans of touch up paint, a full filter set, tube of grease, and some other goodies to make up the pitfalls of the tractor setup. He could have easily said 'you're on your own', but took care of all the issues. I think he made another loyal customer !

Mower stalled yesterday because it became totally clogged under the deck. Grass is just so tall from all the rain, it wont dry.

My youngest managed to start mower and put it away. Last night i mowed a couple rounds, then cleaned the deck. Ready for them to continue today.

I wasnt really job searching, this one came up. Not sure i like their pay structure. They bake all the holiday and vacation days into your hourly rate, then only pay for actual hours worked. Puts it on you to manage a week off, because you wont get paid that week. You can also take off as much as you want, you wont get paid for it, if it's above the limit baked in. You can also work more hours and make more.

Good job on the gas line. Did you dig out a little under far side of slab to see what was hitting?

I give the sermon sunday to fill in for our minister. Need to work on that... It's a review of Romans 1-10.

No word yet on Ferris price.... Guess i have to call Neil.

I'd say anywhere that has high mountain passes. When it's hot you can go up high and ride. Always nice in the high passes temp wise.

Here's a picture at the top of the Nebo loop in Utah. My wife would kill me if she new I posted a picture of her.

Good Morning. It's 71°F here this morning and overcast. The weather prognosticators are saying 86°F this afternoon and 50% chance of rain overnight.

Found this picture of David's LP line boring success! Woo Hoo!

Saw first hummingbird yesterday evening. A single and he (?) spent a bit of time at our feeder. It took a good two weeks for them to find the feeder, when I first put it up last year.

Spent yesterday, in one of our pastures, mowing down wild flowers (weeds with good PR), with the New Holland and rotary cutter yesterday. Temp got to up 87°F and 95%+ humidity so ....... cab and A/C was nice. Made a note of several more trees needing trimming of lower limbs to get better access with either tractor. The New Holland is almost 9' to top of the cab. I've found that the live oaks, I've trimmed up to get closer access with tractors, get good grass growing under them within a year of trimming.

Hope everyone has an excellent Friday.

Prayers to all.
