Our locate weather station rain coming tonight but if you live higher than 1000' good chance 1-3 inches snow around day break Tuesday. more rain to follow during the week.

Tested ground with tractor but still way to soft maybe by June 1st before doing any work on side field.

spent last two hours planning a trip on a weekend I would normally never travel on, Memorial Day, but my old friend's husband's family decided that weekend worked for them and not much choice in the matter. Hilton Homewood Suites smiled all the way through the process as they explained the "slight" 30 dollar a night premium for that weekend. Telling them how many times I've stayed there would be like talking to a brick wall. Earning opportunity the capitalists say.

They have a nice kitchen suite with free breakfast, free wifi, not very promising that no one answered phone there, too busy, wound up with national reservations, who were quite efficient, and I was amazed there was availability, so I just shut my mouth and got hosed on the rate.

I normally try to stay at my friend's in Milton DE but he's traveling North too.
So it's a BEF adventure, thankfully not that long, but to me, probably about the same.
Barely tolerable if no accidents; utterly exhausting to me when it goes past 9 hours.

The best part about this hotel I stay at is I get off at the Blue Route before Philadelphia at the airport and miss the drive up through the City of Brotherly Love.
Some of the craziest amped up drivers street racing on 95 I've ever seen. I see this in Virginia near DC, the DC beltway for sure, not so much in
Baltimore, they love their radar there, but I get on the Blue Route West of Philadelphia
and it's like all the crazy people got on too.
55 mph road and folks blow past doing
80 and more. 25 over in heavy traffic, and they get pissed at you if you are only doing ten over.
This is when it's just smart to get behind a truck in the right lane and turn up the music.

Picked forty pounds of collards after dinner, wanted to take some in for food distribution tomorrow morning.
Now I'm sitting with a dripping glass of iced coffee which I remembered to put on a coaster thankfully. Coffee is half decaf.
I also have that decaf iced tea I made, figured that after collard picking I needed some eye opening.

post surgical Dr visit went well. I have had brief, low pain issues maybe once a day, but they are subsiding. I did not know that he had sent my gall bladder in for oncology examination. Was happy to hear that all was well with it. When the lady gave me the ultrasound earlier, she put on the report that my right kidney looked normal. Thank you all for the well wishes.

Feeling much better. Have not had heart pains or anxiety since. Hope that stays the norm.

tops, you could nail it with some paint balls and turn it whatever color you want. but lead poisoning sounds better.

Still looks like I'm gonna lose maybe 5 or 6 tomato plants.

Time for getting kids to bed.

Good evening all. 56F for the start, mostly clear sky, light breeze. Sky stayed mostly clear, moderate wind, and high temp of 83F. Choir practice to start day, then lawn mowing, after lunch and nap, bike ride. Dog kept wanting to check out culverts tonight during walk.
No broken axle stories, did have rear axle bearing fail. less than 1/2 the ball bearings left when we diagnosed it :ashamed:

For example:

Can the bucket float?

What kind of hydraulic fluid does it use?

Where can I get owner's and repair manuals?

How's the traction of the tracks on slopes? On grassy slopes? On wet slopes?

How long will a set of tracks last, and how much do they cost to replace?

Is there more than one kind of track?

What are the tip angles, both side-to-side and front-to-back?

How does the 3-point adapter work? Does it mean I have to drive backwards when using a box blade?

Will a Kubota quick mount adapter work on the NH mount? Will Bobcat implements work on the NH mount?

What kind of hydraulic fittings are used for attachments?

How well does it dig?

What is the fuel consumption, in gallons/hour?

Are parts readily available?

What else should I ask?:confused2:


If I go this direction, looks like I'll be selling all my PTO driven implements. Post hole digger, brush and flail mowers. Haven't used the rotary cutter in a couple years now, and Value Leader makes a skid steer flail. Hopefully it uses the same knives as the one I have now because I have a brand new spare set. I'll just rent a post hole digger if I ever need one again.

They sell something called a tree shovel that looks like it'll work nicely for popping burnt trees out of the ground. And if the Kubota mount and fittings can be adapted to the NH, I'll keep the 4-in-1 bucket to drag the trees in.

That's some good news there, Kyle. Your surgery may have been non-invasive, but that doesn't mean you're done recovering. Keep taking it easy and give your body time to heal before you go off He11 bent for leather again!
