Good morning all,

44 this morning and a rain/snow mix. Woke up to about 2" of snow but it has already melted. No field work today or maybe even tomorrow.

Prayers for all, hope you all have a nice day.

Will trade, californy for the island. Will throw in detroit for free..

NO thanks!
We've got enough problems with a Prime Minister (politically like your President) that thinks California and Canada should have some of the same rules.
Now if you were to throw in Bay City.

Lynn, what makes you think the soil will run out of rocks?

prayers for all.

Here's how I'm looking at it; I know the earth is growing rocks to torment farmers. I'm trying to trick the earth by only removing the rocks on the surface and down about 10". That way the earth might think the rocks are still there and leave me alone.

That plan actually works Lynn, been doing it for years here....just a little at a time... We live about 1/2 mile from the base of a nearby mountain, surprisingly I can dig down 5-6' before hitting any rocks...and I mean ANY! There are not even any pepples in the soil until that depth. This area used to be pinto bean farms, maybe the previous farmers took them all out?

It would be awesome to have soil like that. I keep the cutter bar on my haybine raised up several inches to prevent damage. The whole time I'm cutting I always fear hitting something. It would be nice to just cut with the cutter bar only an inch or two off the ground and not be concerned about hitting anything. The good thing about going through my field like I'm doing is cleaning it all up. I have found bones, wire, old rusty T post, barbed wire, pipe, broken pieces of tillage tools, wood, and of coarse rocks big and small.

The next owner will be thinking, " yea my field doesn't have any rocks on it". :cool2:

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!

A mixed sun/clouds 32ºF for this morning’s low temp; 54ºF with increasing clouds presently, and I anticipate a cloudy ~60ºF for today’s high. Rain tonight and tomorrow, sunny Saturday, and possible rain on Mother’s Day. 20 different species of birds at the feeders early this AM including a never seen before house sparrow here until today. The tree swallows arrived yesterday and are already building a nest in the bird box; maybe both. Front tires are back on the rider and the rears are off. I’ll be taking the rears to the tire center later today.

Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are some of the best days in longterm care facilities.

There was a “movement” down in the “Valley” for western MA, A.K.A. NoHo, and/or Baja MA to secede from MA and join VT.

I have a sailing Lev-O-Meter (inclinometer) mounted on my New Holland. I do not like those pucker moments.

Drew- Be careful mowing along your roadside. Drivers around here are blind to wildlife, roadside pedestrians, and tractors. Nice looking vegetables.

Ted- Great news. I look forward to the pictures.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

I supplied the old rear rider tires/wheels and innertubes to the local tire center today and ended up with no $ charge for remounting.:D They had tubed (their/my cost) and mounted the (new) front tires I supplied for $38. I got home and remounted the rears making 100% sure the rear keys were still in place. The tractor started, the mower engaged, but not the HST. No wheel keys anywhere; dealer called; service and pickup scheduled. This is the second time the "TorqueDrive" failed on this D130. I may end up rotary cutting the "lawn' (again). Nothing runs like a Deere D130/Murray version xx.xx sometimes. The lower field (perimeter) slope that I regularly rider mow may be too much of a "challenge" for this series of tractor. I already killed a (White/Murray) rider less capable. My NH is too big for what is really needed.:(
