only a little over an inch of rain here, less than expected and I'll know shortly if the yard is a mess.
Sure was windy.

Not sure what is planned for today. Just drinking my coffee and waking up.
Probably will change the battery in the Farmall and otherwise fiddle around.

32 °F and going to a high of 46. Wind NE 16 gusting to 22 mph. A few showers.

Not raining right now and hopefully not at all today. I want to polish up a rim or three.
I got my wheel locks. A whole $54.87 tax in.

The garage told me that they couldn't possibly get to the starter on the Jeep until at least next Tuesday/Wednesday. There was a message on my voice mail last Thursday.....The Jeep is done. I will pick it up on Tuesday.
These guys treat me really good.

I may go and clean out culverts around noon IF it is not raining. IF it is raining then the rims will get polished.

Have a safe day all

On this third week of April the snow on the fields disappeared and the last of the ice in the harbour sunk. With spring in mind, I awoke making plans to get caught up on my farming and firewood harvest but man was I rudely awaken when I looked out the window. I looked out the window at our dimly lit fields hoping to see some wildlife and check the weather. Surely I am having a nightmare or seeing things. I wiped my eyes in disbelief then looked again. There was about 3 inches of snow on the ground which was not forecasted and was the last thing on my mind. Even as a kid this was my worse weather nightmare as it always threw a monkey wrench into my fly fishing and wood harvest plans.

I attempted to feed the injured fox and I felt the door resist. Six inches of snow blew against the door. With the wind howling and the snow falling, I had no choice but to except yet another delay to my plans. Two days ago I took off my snowblower and put on my logging winch. I was convinced winter was over. All the same, I was happy I put the logging winch on because a young neighbour had his truck stuck in his sister's field. The logging winch cable reached his truck and I was able to pull him out so I was happy to help.

I guess I don't have much to complain about compared to the wildlife. At least I have the option of staying in. This is the injured fox that is hanging around. He was in bad shape just 3 months ago. We fed him up as he was to lame to get his own food. Note his broken ear and the lame position he holds his back leg. Also note the black behind his ear. Something tore this skin and now the skin is hanging. Possible cause of his injuries is a car, a coyote or an eagle. He seems like he is doing ok now but the snow challenged his morning hunt so I gave him some scraps. lame fox.jpg

Three weeks ago when the snow was crusted I found this dead partridge. I did an exploratory why he died. He had a broken neck. My neighbour who is a great hunter says they frequently try to dive deep into the snow for protection from the elements or predators. During this dive they meet the hard crust and they break their neck. My neighbour claims that near 80 for the fatality this time of years is caused by this misjudgement.

Sorry about the shoulder. Not sure if mine is rotator, but it’s so sore I can’t raise it above level without help from the other arm. Got sore when I pulled myself up from the floor a couple of weeks ago, then got better until I helped a friend saw a windshield out of an old Camaro with piano wire. I guess the sawing motion did it. Better each day but feels like something raw running on bone. Top of the joint is sore to the touch.

67 and still raining, near 1.5” so far.

Good day guys, prayers for all.

that shoulder sounds painful. I'd rub some numbing salve on it gently if it were mine.
Need to put some of the fire out, calm the area down.

is there any way to post an mp4 here? rename it something else? Won't accept, says invalid

headed outside to see what the storm blew down, should be a nice day, high of 71.
I'll take the mental image of Gaproperties blowing snow with me.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 37° with light rain this morning. Heading to 45° with rain most of the day. Wind has in the teens since yesterday. Not much going to get done. Help wife get ready for tomorrow. Not much else going to get done.
Using new computer some speed benefits. Backing up my iPhone's and iPad's takes less than 10 minutes. Using USB 3.1 Gen 1. Apple Lightening cable is USB 3.0. or USB SS or? :confused2: They sure know how to confuse you. Here is a video if you really need to know.

Randy and Buppies, my son and I have had the surgery. We both have full pain free motion. Strength takes time. Son had his at 40 years old. Today he can hunt with a bow as good as he did in his late 20's. He is now 46. Recovery takes longer than most Dr's will tell you. Plan on 6 months for motion. Strength will slowly come back. Will therapy fix it. Maybe. Therapy made ours worse. I had bicep tendon, spur removal and rotor cuff repair surgery. Son had spur and rotor cuff surgery. Lots of stories about shoulder repair surgery. Many are good. But some are not. Find a Dr that has high recommendation and a high success rate. Hope yours and others have a good results.

Drew, glad your visit turned out good.

Thomas, we did have names for the Cranes. But shortly after we name them they stop coming around.

Good Morning All.
