Good evening all. 60F this morning, partly cloudy sky and calm wind. Low wind day today, sky cleared off quickly, and high temp was 83F. Choir practice started the morning, mowed lawn, and shorten bike ride to 20 miles today, I was pooped.
WCD, welcome:welcome:
Jay, I recall rock harvesting in the Ozarks, no shortage of rocks there either. Knew a lot of people that needed erosion control :D
Thanks to all for sharing the pics.
Prayers for all.

I hear hail pounding the house, wind is gusting around 30, .4 “ of rain so far in about 15 minutes.
On the bright side, they just finished spreading chicken manure across the road, so I won’t have to smell that with all this rain.

(That was from 7 pm, we got .98 “ of rain in about 35 minutes, hail and wind didn’t amount to much.)

I mowed last week, carpenter bees arrived last week, wasps building nests, frogs have been singing on mild nights for weeks.
Birds are nesting in all my trees. Farmer spread chicken manure on the field across from us,
AND THE NUMBER ONE SIGN OF SPRING IS, I’M WEARING SHORTS! :D

33 right now, high in upper 30's and more rain or snow. Yesterday, the rain turned in to a slushy mix. There were several resulting vehicle accidents

Good morning. Having the 2nd cup of coffee already. Slept good last night and didn稚 want to get out of bed this morning. 52 now, supposed to get to 65 later. Never got any rain yesterday.

Yea, I was smiling when I got to work. Gonna repeat today. The triple will sing again today.

Time to get moving....everyone have a safe and good day.

so warm and muggy in the house from overnight rain had to turn a/c on. Rain is now gone until tonight, very humid out,
might spend a few hours planting tomatoes today. High of 78.
Rich enjoy your drive.

headed down to Walmart early simply because they are open when no one else is, and see if they have any better decaf coffee
than the local supermarket. Then drop something off at food pantry, tax payments at post office and home to plant.

Hope you all have a nice day.

63 and cloudy going to 80.

Glad we didn't get hail from that storm.

Carpenter bees going crazy here. too. My wife bought a bee house...sort of a birdhouse but with tubes the size that carpenter bees make...I mounted it near their favorite nesting place...so we'll see. Otherwise, it is back to my trusty butterfly net and keeping count.

52 degrees this morning going for a sunny high of 88. It was actually 88 here yesterday although the official high was only 82. I mowed the yard right during the hottest part of the day yesterday; won't do that again.

Long ago, I posted about a cotton tailed rabbit having babies under our back patio. And now we have some new ones. Little ones are cute, and very easily spooked.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 48ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 58ー with mostly sunny skies. Got yesterday's projects done. Great weather sure has made everything coming back to life. Time to get lawn mower ready for grass cutting. The mention of carpenter bees reminds me to put the 4 traps I made last year back up. I also have some flashing owl hangers to put up to help keep birds from nesting under my 2 lean to's.

I must be the cheap guy. I bought two 25 lbs bags of Oil-Dri for $9 last fall. Put them in 3 gallon buckets. One for garage/shop and one for pole barn. They should last a couple of years. Always oil of some sort being spilt. The buckets came from Don's when he was doing his drive. I still have 3 or 4 that havent been used. I think I had 10 to start.

JMK, sorry to hear that EMS is not supported properly. It's a service we all hope will not be needed. But really appreciated when it is needed.

Jay, we normally see goldfinches at the feeder all winter. Saw 2 a couple of weeks ago. None since. During the summer they like to play in our garden pond waterfall. Hope they will be back.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

62 heading for 77, love it! We got a total 1.13” of rain from the squall line last night. Things to do but will see what the motivation is.
Have a great day and prayers for everyone.

Jay thanks for the research, that is about what I thought just needed a Dr. to confirm.

Txdon-that is actually part of a small wall we put on the edge of the property for decoration. Here is a quick picture from our front window.
Very nice and substantial wall.

Don, since you didn't win (or admit you won :)) the Yanmar, how about winning a hybrid RAV4 XSE AWD? Just got a mailer from our Toyota dealer with a coupon to enter the giveaway (sponsored by Toyota Motor Sales, Plano TX).
I will seek out that contest. I'm feeling lucky again. Last night I won. We were at a dinner by my trail development team followed by a concert under the stars and the band had a drawing for a CD. Out of the hundred people there I won!

Also yesterday my wife said to go ahead and get the Mazda CX-5, and then added the killer words: "If that's what you want". You know what that means. A whole new direction. I went out by myself and something followed me home yesterday, she like it! Today I'll decide if it gets adopted if the salesman is in an agreeable mood. Hint: Neither of us considered this vehicle before.

The wood Shop guy contacted me and Thursday will be a training day.

A morning hike starts in 1.5 hours, got to get going - a few high clouds 54 ˚F.

32 °F and going to a high of 36. Winds ESE 4 mph. Periods of snow or rain.

A dump run today and then clear out much of the piled up snow from the roof slides and in front of the living room window. That is all hoe work, mainly because 'someone' put a skid full of mulch right where I would need to get with the tractor to use the FEL. I will try and get 'before' and 'after' pics for you all.

Have a good day all

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 5:15AM. Sunny with gusty winds developing this afternoon. High 68F. Winds NW at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Gosh, Bill, I can't even imagine having that much snow around a house that it would be up to a window! Looking forward to your pics. In case misery loves company, it takes me at least two hours to get the hackhoe onto my Kubota. It's a home made hitch, so I have no one to blame but myself, but it's a lot more solid than the 3PH abomination from Nardi, and safer for the transmission cases, too.

The suspense has us all on the edges of our chairs, Don!

Somehow I knew you'd have a better deal on Oil Dri, Rick. Amazon's free shipping isn't always free, huh? :confused2: Gonna see if I can find a local source when I go into town this week.

It threatened rain all day yesterday, with dark clouds overhead and a drop or ten once in a while, as if to say "see, I can rain anytime I want. You sure you wanna start that job now?" I did, and I got the last two mounts for the transaxle changed with little fuss. No rusted fasteners to contend with, fairly decent access, and it seemed to go back together just fine, too. Since I was on a roll, I got out the spare tire and used the jack to lift it into place under the front of the van, between the wheels, and it just barely fit. The stock wheels are 14 inchers, and I went to 16s to fit over the disc brake conversion. Tire diameter increased a little, but the 16s are almost two inches wider. Had to move the mounting bracket for the spare holder down, and will have to re-rig the fastener/hook at the front as well, but the spare does fit after moving some wires and hoses around. Also found where someone used some wire to hold in a stainless steel coolant pipe and provided no padding, which would eventually wear through and cause a leak. So that's on the agenda to address today.

Right about supper time it did finally rain, more of a drizzle, but it seems the rain gutters on the van collect the water and dump them right where one would crawl to get under it, so I had a wet shirt before I was done under there. Finished the day by filtering the contents of the ultrasonic tank back into the Krud Kutter jug through coffee filters, just watching the rain come down as the KK s-l-o-w-l-y dripped through the funnel.

Got word that the neighbor had the staples taken out of his leg were the chainsaw bit him a couple weeks ago. Said it hurt like heck! Then he told me he had chainsaw chaps on when the accident happened! Said it shredded the chaps, but without them he guesses he'd have lost is leg.

To day is starting out warm it's 45° this morning. Yesterday was mostly sunny in the mid 50's and windy. I guess spring is here we are under a winter weather storm warning from 3:00 pm today tell 10:00 am Thursday. They are saying we could get up 16 inches with winds up to 45 mph.

Made a trip to Rock Springs with a neighbor yesterday to pick up a new mattress. It end up taking most of the day.

Not sure what the plans are for today.

Hope everyone has a enjoyable day.
CWB.

Do you have a local Pep Boys Auto near you? I've bought the Oil Dri at their local stores here.

Oil-Dri Quick-Sorb Granular clay absorbent fine cut | 44129 | Pep Boys

Hope that Oil Dri is not one of those nasty Cali. Prop. 65 materials that causes cancer (if you eat three pounds of it a day)?

Your right about Amazon RNG, you have to check prices to keep them honest.

Good morning all,

44 this morning and raining, no wind to speak of. Although it's supposed to get cold and turn to snow. The snow has been melting and several bare spots have been showing up all over the pasture.

I had a pile of OSB and assorted lumber left over from building the house that has been on the back patio all winter. My wife and I stacked it on a 16' long pallet. Yesterday it was dry enough that I could get the tractor in and move the pallet away. Nice to see the whole patio.

I was also able to get a couple tractor buckets full of road base and fix a bad section of the road in front of the house. It was a muddy depression that I'm glad is level and not muddy anymore. I will within a week or two be getting several dump truck loads of road base to top off about 400' of road in front of the house. (pictures will follow) Upfront I'll use the rear blade and loader bucket to level it but I'm on the hunt for a landplane.

Prayers for all, have a nice day.
