Titan 7 foot rotary mower.

I bought a Titan 1507 today. I was running out of daylight when I brought it home so it will be tomorrow before I take it off the trailer and will probably be next week before I test it out. I will give a full review and shoot some video when I do.

Question for the masses. It is supposed to come with ep-0 grease already in the gear box. I will check it before running it. What is EP-0 grease? What are some good brands if it needs to be topped off?

EP=extreme pressure. 0=semi-solid.

It's a flowable/low temp grease that won't break apart under pressure from the gears meshing together. Check the manual and see if it calls for a specific formula of grease, lithium, silicone, etc. It may not call for an exact chemistry as long as the basic conditions are met.

As for brands...no idea.

AGCO uses EP-0 in their discbines, so AGCO/Massey dealers should have tubes of their stuff on the shelf.

If you have a local John Deere store grab a case of JD corn head grease. That痴 what it was designed for, it has EP additives & NLGI-0 rated.

NLGI-0 isn't EP-0, technically. It's a shredder gearbox, so probably doesn't matter, but they're not the same thing.

I checked my 1810 when delivered and it was filled. I would still check it out to be certain.

I use JD cornhead grease. It is technically not EP-0 as stated but is a flowable grease that works fine. I've had my 1810 for almost a year now. It is a good cutter that offers a great value.

Appreciate the correction. I was misinformed then by a shop mechanic and should have looked it up myself. He told me to run it and it had EP additive on the box so I took it as he said. So good to know!

NLGI is the consistency rating or number, in this case 0. If yours said it was EP too, then it should be good.

I'll be looking forward towards your review.
My dealer in Paige offered me a decent trade in for my Rhino 160 a 5' cutter.
I'm looking to upgrade to a 6' unit. Either the TW16 or the Titan six footer.

Looking at the specs the value is that it has a lower price point then the Rhino TW16.
Still prefer chain guards and slip clutch though.

Now the grease thing has my interest because the idea of needing a additive for this is all new to me.

So whatever you can share with use will be greatly appreciated.

As for the cutter review, I tend to get frustrated with not having enough info when I am looking for something. So i bought a GoPro and i am going to try to take a lot of video. And put something decent together to help out the next person who is evaluating one. I have the Chains ordered. They will be on the next truck which shows up next month. I
