Buying Advice Paint - Branson Red

I’d like to have some rattle paint cans of factory Branson red for custom made implements and to eventually paint my 6k wagon trailer to match the tractor. Are there any readily available from box stores or would I need to get them from the factory?

I get mine at the dealer. They are not outrageous . There are so many shades of red I'm sure you could find one that is close. I read somewhere that tractor supply"s Huskee red was very close, but I can't confirm that.

I can confirm it. I bought some for my ammo can tool box. Very close, indeed.

I originally bought red and grey rattle cans from the dealer. Since then I have gone to WW and found colors that are right at identical in the Rustoleum brand. If I think about it today I'll get you the Rustoleum part number for you which appears on the can.

Nobody carries Husk red in anything but spray can. Anybody else find anything by the quart or gallon?

I'm trying to think of an easily detachable part from my tractor... something that could be brought to a paint shop for matching/mixing.

Red is hard to do in anything but automotive type or real industrial paint. The home center type pigments will all fade. Best to find a stock color.

Yes on the Red, it's Cherry....on the label on the rear of the can with the bar code. almost a drop dead match....I can't tell the difference. On the Gray, no luck. Take something to Lowes and get a color match mixed...or somewhere else they mix to your spec and do rattle cans.

Newer JD and GEHL industrial/construction equipment has grey paint that looks to be a close match. I haven't seen those machines side by side with a Branson to compare however.

The drawbar is painted grey, is easily removable, and not too big to bring in to a paint store.

For the grey I use rustoleum gray in a gloss and keep adding rustoleum satin black or semi gloss until I get a good match. That works for me.
