Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I bought this flooring tool to use in gardening. Today I was using it to grub out young black berry starts, and some annual thistles, and hemlock. It is extremely sharp, and easy to keep it so. I converted and old eyeglass pouch to use as a holster. It is an incredible value.

Those are handy. I drove one into a piece of conduit to make a long handle cleanout tool, to cut out blackberry bush runners that get snarled up in my rototiller. Now I can reach in from either side, clear to the center. I carry the tool strapped down on top of the rototiller, so I always have it handy.

I like the idea of an eyeglasses pouch for a holster!

I like the idea of extending the handle... opens up other uses for sure.

I had the same thoughts today about an extension handle. Stoop labor is stupid if it can be avoided.

My parents had a small safe installed in their house when it was being remodeled. Years later, they forgot the combination. They had someone come out (locksmith?) he had it open within about 30 minutes of his arrival.

I worked with it a little tonight but no joy...

The other two safes were drilled and then a borescope was used to align the discs...

Might still try and see if the manufacturer will provide the combo...

Still going through lots of papers left behind thinking I am bound to find the original manual with combo... even checked under drawers to see if it was written down...

If you think you have an application for a battery pole saw, by all means buy one! You won't regret it.

I should have done this long ago. It makes projects attainable that would have been too much trouble with a manual pole saw.

Agreed. I have a gas commercial pole saw not so much for trimming high but reaching into evergreens and trimming lower and up to six ft high things. The pole saw has been a dramatic improvement for me and made the work much easier and quicker. For the homeowner, the HF Lynx has excellent reviews and should do a great job. No more manual pole saws for me.

Cut off wheel on grinder.

I cut a larger safe open one time, it was a steel outer wall, steel inner wall, the Gap was filled with concrete and steel mesh. It was messy as heck, but not horribly hard. The bad thing was fear of grinding sparks that could ignite cash inside.... If there was any. There was not.

I wonder if you could cut most of the depth with the cutoff wheel then after the first breakthrough, switch to a reciprocating saw. Although I suppose that could damage documents/cash too. Maybe, cut a hand-size rectangle well above the floor of the safe.

I cut into the flat top, it was about a 3 foot square safe, about 3 or 4 inches of concrete between the walls. In hind sight... I would cut the top of the side wall, create a flap by cutting 2 verticals and a horizontal at the upper bend. Then try to hammer a pry bar in and bend it out.

I had to call a locksmith to open a safe after my dad passed away. After a few tries at the combo, he picked it up as high as he could and dropped it hard on one corner, The third time he did this, the door popped open. There was nothing in the safe.
