PJSprog; [I said:
Ron, you are definitely not alone. I sometimes actually write little notes, [/I]

I finally had to start doing that too...I think Jay is the best at this.
By the time I've gone three pages, I'm lost. So many interesting things going on.
I never knew PJ was locked and loaded. Well someone has to work down there, right?
I remember working in downtown Trenton NJ, right near the center of town, and had to escort the female
employees to their cars because of personal violence and crime in the area. Very thankful when we moved out of town.
I could look out my window and see prostitutes working the street and guys meeting for drug buys.
Sure had never seen that before, except on tv...

In all my sci fi literature they always have a stun position on their guns. Wish ours were selectable like that.
I'd like guns more that way...I'd stun someone if need be for sure, am a fair shot actually,
not exactly a peaceful solution but rabid animals and rabid people
don't want peace. They want to bite you.
And the strong must always protect the weak or we are back in the caves again.
I'd like to think today's highly educated youth will bring us into a new era of enlightenment and peace.
Until then it's like the ending of morning review on Hill Street Blues
Let's be careful out there

With all the $ incentives and rebates available in MA a significant % of the homes around here have solar panels. Even with my indoor lighting craziness in the cellar and increased use of the mini-split heat exchanger I/we have not paid an electric bill since we went on the grid, still have a $ credit with EverSource, and have received decent quarterly dividends from our production. My dairyman farmer neighbor is renting one of his fields to a solar power company which has ~100X larger production capacity than our own ~12kWp. A googled map of the area here would easily show his solar field and ours is next to invisible by comparison.

Thanks Drew. I had/have a lot of experience tracking individual's and individuals' interacting life stories. I consider myself blessed to have a "gift" and "gifted" to have had so many shared life stories with others. There are no boring life stories; especially with this group;)..... And yes I do take running "notes" and reread and reread again older posts to try to keep things straight. I really try to acknowledge everyone's life experiences here.....

I learn a lot here. Thanks everyone:cool:

Good morning to all! Low of 30F, going up to 42F. Nothing like those in the midwest! The precip (snow) that was expected didn't materialize at all, not even a flurrie.

I can't believe some of those forecasted temps, how do you protect yourself from temps that low....most people don't have clothing for antarctic conditions. What about equipment like gas pumps? General plumbing in your house? My thoughts go out for people having to deal with it.

Today's agenda includes PT session this morning, then to run a few errands. Not much else, PT usually does my knee in.

I, too, find myself having to go back in the posts to remember everything that has been talked about.... On a few occasions, I have actually taken notes:D

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent.

Wonder why private solar works but gov solar fails. No need to answer.

Jay, are you totally off grid capable or just grid tied?

I think the simple answer is that the gov. just uses more than what it produces....just like everything else they they do....just sayin...

I think, in many cases, the infrastructure to get "power" from where it's produced ..... to where it's consumed is lacking. With a "home" system, that problem is eliminated.

Writing down notes. Good idea. I thought I left them behind when I retired. Now I will have to start again for a different reason. 🤫

It was 42°F here at 4 a.m. but dropped to 35°F by 7 a.m. We got some rain last evening about 9 p.m., when the front came through but, with the high winds (20 mph gusting to 35 mph) the patios and sidewalks were dry by 11 p.m. Forecast says we'll see maybe 50°F this afternoon.

I think today will be a workshop day ..... with doors closed. Still working on shop reorganization.

Jay, I talked to my Little Brother in Iowa last evening. He went out, at 5 a.m. Sunday, to get the newspaper and found some black ice in the dark. Broke his fibula, don't remember right or left. I advised him that he needed to get some crampons for his slippers ...... so they wouldn't be "slippers"! And to not get same ones as yours! . Hope your healing fast.

Everyone under the "Polar Vortex", stay warm and safe. GM is at the limit for injuries. Somebody has to heal up before anyone else gets wounded.

Prayers to all.

Extra prayers for the Houston Police Officers, shot during a drug warrant service. 4 shot, 2 critical. One had been shot previously.

Shooters (2) succumbed to extreme lead poisoning.

Ted- I/We am grid linked with our system. I still believe that EverSource is still carrying too high a voltage (>110V- 115V) on their roadside power lines, but I sam certainly not an electrician nor know that much about electricity especially AC.

Years ago I looked into off the grid living and decided it was not cost effective for us at the time (no $). David's residential setup for power and water is amazingly

Rick- I am sorry to read about your Brother. "Shooters (2) succumbed to extreme lead poisoning." Justice served w/o the need to waste $ on the legal rights and care and treatment via incarceration of those 2 losers.

There is a new thread on Falling on Ice here at TBN. I posted my BS there as to the failed crampon product.

My ongoing + thoughts, prayers, wishes for all first responders and the victims of violence.
