Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Yep, the dial ones are dependable for sure. My only digitals are from HF. Curious if the batteries last longer in the high-end brands without removing them.

Our HF digital was still working with the first battery the last time I tried it. I am guessing it is 3-4 years old but with a new month happening every two weeks now I am not good at judging time. :)

I have about 8 high end calipers at work. I would guess if you left them on all the time, the battery would last a year or 2. They are Mitutoyo and Brown and Sharp. I recommend the Mitutoyo.

I also love my Mitutoyo dial calipers too, but I can't set an incremental distance with them.

Well Harbor Freight is advertising in VFW, American Legion and now in AAA.
Marketing strategy on a strong move.
Like politicians, keep mentioning the name and you finally get
recognition.

I also have Mitutoyo calipers, they shut down on there own? No on / off button.

At age 70, glad I'm losing memory of the dumb thing that I did in the past!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only my brown and Sharp calipers cut off and it annoys me. You can get some solar assisted Mitutoyo sets.

Love your signature JW.

Did I read somewhere that the newer 6HP horizontal Predator engines now have a 1" output shaft instead of the 3/4" the older ones did?

That could be.. :confused3:
But I know that the shaft size is based on the engine frame size. So I'd kinda doubt it. Might be wrong...?

On their website they have 3 6hp Predators listed and they all have .750" shafts. 8 hp has 1.00"

That's what I thought, but I saw it on the interwebs, so .....

FYI, my dun blowed up 6HP Briggs has a 1" shaft which it what I'm looking to replace without having to use an adapter.

So what do you get when you cross one HF freebie that sucks and one that rocks? The ultimate headlamp. The incandescent headlamp has a great strap but the light itself really sucks. The blue LED light rocks but wouldn't it be handy as a headlamp? I'm using this in my crawl space and it really lights it up down there.
