Forgot to turn coffee maker on. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 40° with rain. We should get less than .5". PT is going good. Was able to eat for the first time with my right hand in 11 weeks. Got a lot done yesterday. All parts are cut for Quickjack ramps. Kitchen Island foot rest is cut to size and ready to run router over all corners. Should be able to work some more on both projects today.

Don, I knew I had seen that fence design before. Harvey probably has the grape vines on his list of to do's.

Bird, we are a little behind in rainfall this year. 30". should be a around 32.5".

Drew, because we travel for so many years. All our bills/statements and payments are done on internet. All paperwork is stored in a PDF file. Got rid of 4 files cabinets a few weeks ago.

Looking, Looks like are we are going to get is rain. Need some snow here.

Eric, we love our grandkids. But after we have spoiled them rotten. They go home with their parents. :cool2:

Buckeye, hope your cut is going to be OK. My doctor say there is national registry for Tetanus shots. Last week I told him I told him I had a tetanus shot this summer. But it was not on the list when his staff checked. So, yes there is a list. But not every doctor/clinic particitates. :confused3:

Prayers for All.

Good Morning All.

23 and clear, going to 51 and rain tonight.

Riptides, good to hear from you and sorry about the storm damage.

BEF, sounds like a bad cut.

Real nice fence with those grapevines, Harv.

I sharpened saw, cut a nice load of wood, split it and stacked by lunch time. Ground had thawed by the time I came back to the house, but R4s didn't do too much damage to the soft damp ground. Then visited with my son and GF before they left for NY. Now we have a quiet house, too.

It's just cold outside. I see frost cover everywhere. So I am not going out. Yet.

Moving slow this AM. Was doing the shed yesterday. Repairing the roof. Looks like one sheet of metal is not salvageable. Bent in half, and split the metal in areas. Guess some screws just did not want to give way. Lost a few horizontal boards, those that attach to the rafters. They split right off at the rafter and took the metal with them. I am going to run out and get some hurricane straps this AM. Seems my 2x4 cuts that attach the rafters to support beams, most gave way. The wood split. Most all the damage is just the 2x4 rafter holders splitting and giving way. I built with all screws, so disassembly was easy. Ran out of battery juice though, so had to quit. That and the sun was coming down. LOL.

wngsprd - my ground is still mush. Cannot even run the RTV without tracks all over.

Buppies - hope you are well. I need some dry weather, see what you can do. LOL.

Buckeye- I always have some "crazy" glue on hand for those type of cuts. Heal quickly.

Hope all have a great day! Be safe!

Oh, we still have cookies left over from Xmas. Even after bagging and giving them to anyone that would take them. And, I still see about 10 more mix bags ready to go! I think someone is making up for last year. LOL. <- and it's not me.

The first one I did with the double top rail and design inside it we used family initials made into brands. I値l see if I can find some photos of it.

I don稚 know what the design will be, right now weæ±*e just trying to get it all closed up so we can haul butt to Yuma for the winter.
Yes I do, and that award winning design also kept the hogs out.
Don't forget the grapevine.

Don would like to hear how the reinforcing projects comes, have same issue here.
.

I was hoping to get the correct reinforcing design from an engineer here. I might have to utilize the attic space above the utility room and hallway of the house. That way I can build a new floor with the walls of the house giving the support at least every 8' instead of relying on the the 30' span of the 2X4 trusses of the garage. The pull down stairs will be in the garage, it is about 4' from the wall of the utility room so I will have 3 trusses to reinforce. I'll pick up the attic access stairs today. Do you have a pull down attic stair access? I have to get the 22.5" wide one.

Good morning! 49 ˚F clear sun day. The front blew in yesterday dropping temps and gave us a soaking with 2.5" of rain.
I left the compost lid open by accident and all the solider larva crawl out to find dry ground. I have to round up about 2000 that are covering my patio, they are not moving so it should be an easy round-up.

Go with the metal pull down ladder version. I installed one of those when we sold the house in Wylie and the difference is absolutely huge, it’s like walking up a staircase vs a rickety ladder.

I would think scabbing on 2 X 4s on existing trusses would provide you the strength you need. That way you keep the same thickness and the good thing is you don’t need to nail them all the way to the wall because you’re putting the existing joist in shear about two feet out.
