Just had a little 7.3 Shaker. Made me a little queasy and scared the dog. House survived. Whew!

I thought this was going to be a thread about a 7.3 Powerstroke engine. Then I realized you meant earthquake so I googled it quick, and it brought up several articles saying it was a 6.7 which is yet another Powerstroke engine. All joking aside, take care and stay safe.

Hahahaha. They are still trying to decide how strong it was. Sounds like it caused some damage in Anchorage. All the TV stations are still off so we are just getting spotty info on line.

Sounds like a couple of overpasses have collapsed and some roads are impassable. Our humble abode rode out the thing just fine.

In Fairbanks when there's a earthquake it sounds like a freight train coming at high speed. Think maybe this is because of the frozen ground instead of bedrock. My Mon was in anchorage when they had the big one in 63 I think it was

Thanks for the Prayers! Haven't heard of any injuries but lots of highway damage.

USGS now classifies it as 7.0 - somewhere near Anchorage - exact epicenter not yet specifically defined.

Man - am I ever glad to see you are still with power and kicking Doofy.

They say quite a bit of highway & overpass damage in Anchorage.

Several pictures posted of substantial damage inside stores in Anchorage.

Tsunami warning posted for Cook Inlet and Southern Kenai Peninsula

And all our rain just now turned to snow.

Keep the fires going up there Doofy - my thoughts for your wife and you.

16 major aftershocks so far but we are not feeling them here. Quite the mess in Anchorage and the Mat-Su...lots of roads turned to jello and buckled.

I believe all the Tsunami warnings have been cancelled.

I've been watching the one tv station....wow...the upper floors took a beating. They were going to move everything into the lower filming area. The one big highway looked like it just washed down the hill. I wonder if that was from what they call "liquification"?

Liquification, yes. Makes the soil act like quicksand. Rain and snow in the forecast and DHS just stated that additional quakes even larger than the first could happen this afternoon. Hope not.

One expert said aftershocks could happen for months or years.....crazy.
