Thanks Molalla1, it was a process to get all this cut and stacked these last few years but the new wood stoves I have in my house now require very dry wood. Most of this wood is four plus years old seasoned. I had it at my brothers property but when i moved to my current house i have more room to store wood so having the tractor has helped saved many hours of work that before would have been moved by hand.

Probably all hard wood? . . . mostly fir around my place and all over here the Pacific Northwest, I get a little hardwood, but mostly fir, love hardwood for the stove.

Molalla1, it was all black locust. Lately though there has been an abundance of ash from the beetle killing all the trees. I should be getting more this coming week a friend of mine, his parents are having some taken down this week and it costs more to have it removed so I said I would take it. Win win for everyone.

Does anyone use a lubricant on your wood stove door latch? If so, what do you use? Mine has a hook that slides under a roller and it is getting stiff. I was going to try graphite unless there is something better.

I have never had to lubricate a door latch but my bypass rod to activate my cat burner I have taken a cloth an gotten it wet with WD-40 and used that to keep it sliding freely. I don't know how if I would be spraying that into the stove since I believe it is flammable.

Really not sure what to use because of the heat but you might be able to find high temperature grease.

On my 40 yr. old stove, the hinge on the door, and the draft control knob, have always squeaked.

If the noise gets to the point I can't tolerate it, I reach for my bottle of LOCK-EASE, graphited lock fluid. It works for awhile.

Id just toss some fluid film in there. It's the only lube one could ever need.
