My 2538 has only 36 hours on it. The backhoe outriggers will fall down in less than a day. Used to take a week. Likely poor quality cylinders and/or control valves ?

if both are falling at roughly same speed its the valve.no way both cylinders are bad already

The valve probably is the problem. Although in this circumstance it is possible to be the cylinders. Low quality? Yea probably. Hydraulics leak down. As long as it’s not fast enough to cause problems during operation I wouldn’t work about it. I just left a ratchet strap across the stabilizers on my backhoe.

Cylinders made in China ? I get the impression it is cylinder bypass. Yep I use a tie down when its in for the night.

There just might be air. Did you crack the fittings and bleed any air out?

Y'all don't have keepers on yours? Left one is shown in place. Right is shown released and the pin it hooks over on the outrigger.

My full size backhoe has very expensive valve assemblies that are supposed to prevent the stabilizers from falling. Both valves are new and both cylinders are rebuilt. No signs if scoring on piston, rods, or cylinders. Both stabilizers leak down. Somtimes at different rates and sometimes hardly at all. I gave up worrying about it. Just make sure and park it where the stabilizer won't hit anything if it falls.

My Emax 25 backhoe does the same thing. Small ratchet strap holds them up when not using it. The hoe bucket also uncurls itself about half way.

Boy, that brings back memories of me and my best friend back when I was maybe 9-10 years old. They were having an addition put on their house. The contractor left a backhoe overnight. We climbed on it and started sitting in the seat pretending we were digging. We were on the back seat fighting over the levers and WHAM! the boom dropped! We got the heck out of there. Could have easily killed one or both of us. Yikes!
