Kubota L3901 vs Kioti CK4010

You misunderstand, You didn't make a mistake buying a Kubota, you made a mistake by calling Kioti's "inferior". And you also made a mistake by inferring that we are all owners of pathetic puds. You seem to be a rather mistake prone fella. :)

You have made one correct statement... " You misunderstand ". Let's stop there.

Your the one that is wound up. AND has a problem in "playing well with others".

Here is my post from a few days ago... Tell me why it wound you up.

"I don't keep doing anything... I bought my MX 6 years ago, and I have no idea what Kioti I looked at. I did not think it measured up and thought it was an inferior machine compared to the Kubota. You like your Kioti, that's great. Enjoy it. My opinion only... I'm not a paid tractor consultant. So chill out."

I went with the Kubota primarily because the Kioti dealer lost me. He knew very little about his tractor, he knew very little about tractors in general.

I was already leaning to the Kubota so I just thanked him for his time and left. Threw his card and pamphlet away at a gas station on the way home. I may have walked away from the best tractor in the world but I went the next day and bought the Kubota. With just a little over 10hrs on it, I couldn't be happier. As the honeymoon wears off and the hours rack up, we'll see if that changes.

Ha... that happened to me at the first Kubota dealer I went to. I literally was sitting on the tractor I wanted to buy and my wife was standing next to the dealer with her checkbook in her hand. He could have cared less if he sold that tractor. The next week I was in another town, saw a Kubota dealer who was incredibly nice and informed and bought the tractor that minute.

There is 1 kubota dealer that has 4 locations in my area. Location A is closest to my property and where the tractor would be. Location B is closest to my current home. The M62 was sitting on the lot in Location A. I stopped in and demoed it for an hour or so. They couldn't have been nicer. I had stopped in at this dealer a number of times over the past year. They were always more than willing to let me demo anything on the lot. I decided on the way back home the M62 was the right choice. I emailed Location A and called to follow up asking for a quote. He said they would "sharpen their pencils" A week went by...called/emailed again. Another week went by...nothing. So I called Location B (which also has fantastic folks) and asked for a quote on the M62 sitting at their other dealership. He had it to me that evening. He went and picked the tractor up from Location A and started working up the add ons.

I really hated to do that to Location A, because they were very nice...but if you can't get a price what to do. Anyway they are all great to work with so I am sure I will use both as needed.

Sorry, bubba... not biting. The more you try and egg me on, the more pathetic you appear. I'm starting to think you are just jealous. ;)

I own a JD, but at least it’s not green. If JD painted the construction service green I’d have probably bought a Cat!

Popcorn time! I find some solace in knowing that we did actually help the OP decide on a tractor...but man has this thread taken a downward turn :(

INferior/superior on FEATURES or OPTIONS..it's like saying a loaded car is superior to a stripped down model - as far as transportation goes they do the same thing the same way - the extra features cost more, may help in resale, probably improve the ownership experience, may decrease reliability (never had a crank window fail..had lots of power window tracks, motors, switches go bad over the years).

In some ways it's comparing apples and oranges.

The RK guy is great for calling RK tractors premium or some such term becaue they include most items that are options on 'value' (as he calls them) tractors.

A CK3510 or one with options or the SE version all do teh same thing. I can brush hog forever and not NEED cruise control, can run a loader and never need an arm rest, etc - doesn't make my tractor 'superior' to one that lacks those options.

Does it DO the WORK you need? DOes it do it reliably? If/When you need filters or parts or questions answered, is the dealer helpful? (almost everything costs too much on ALL brands..$70 oil filters? REALLY?)

Other than a few things about kubotas (front knuckles and regen issues) I read of very few failures - considering they are the most prevalent tractor out there that says a lot. I don't pay attention to Deere issues, but haven't seen anything that gets discussed in kubota or kioti forums other than maybe the aluminum axle, and then there's no talk of it failing.

I've seen some mahindra talk..electrical, leaks, etc. Not model specific either. Since TYM makes them, makes me wonder a bit - but I've not compiled the facts to draw any conclusions.

NH is popular here and people stay brand loyal, so I assume tehy're good. DOn't see much discussion of them online though.

Say a massey once...no branson here, tym is 2 hours away so haven't seen them. See a LOT of older ford units - the 2/8/9n models of cours,e but also 2000,3000, 4000.
I have almost 500 hours on my Kioti, and all I can tell you is the cable actuated valve still feels tight and precise on my DK35se. It might break tomorrow for all I know, but it has been good so far. It is less tiring at the end of a long day to operate the Kioti vs my previous Kubota with the valve out front on the loader and the stick coming back at you, where you reach up and out to operate it. It isn't bad on the Kubota, just a little more effort on your arm. The Grand L Kubota's have the stick down by your side like my Kioti has.

What gets a lot of people in trouble making comfort comparisons is comparing "Standard" Kubotas to the more upscale Kioti's like mine. The "Standard" L series is a made to sell at a price point and as such is missing many comfort and convenience features.

The Grand L series of Kubota's spare nothing in the comfort and convenience department, as well as utilizing an upscale hydrostatic transmission. The hydrostat+ transmission in a Grand L Kubota is one thing that sets it apart from all other brands, including my Kioti. Kioti has recently integrated some of its features, but my hydro, while good and serviceable does not have the features that a grand L has.

My Kioti has many more useful features that the "standard" L series Kubota's lack. So my tractor is like a Grand L Kubota that is several thousands of dollars cheaper minus the Hydrostat + transmission.

If you want to get snarky about it, my Kioti is very much upscale from a standard L series Kubota, and therefore the L is an "inferior" tractor. :) This "inferior" tractor is the one that Mr. Steppenwolf owns. But if you want to in the same vein compare my Kioti to a Grand L, then since it does not have Hydrostat+ then it is an "inferior" tractor. albeit at a much cheaper price point.

My point is we need to stay away from using superlatives in calling peoples tractors "inferior" or "superior" and understand that these tractors are made to satisfy a marketing price point. We have choices in our tractor buying experience and that is a good thing.
