How do you keep the rocks to a minimum when skidding logs in the Spring, Summer and Fall... I would guess not so much a problem in snow.

I've never had problems with rocks, usually it's limbs that I manage to drag out. With the front of the trees off the ground you don't pick up many stones.

I don't have much experience but have taken down some 30-36 ABH trees and when every time when I am cutting near ground level I hit a rock grown into the tree...

My first thought is dragging through the dirt is bound to pick up at least a few and it would just be my luck.

In my above pict., I didn't have the 3 point all the way up, but what "I" do is I leave the "top" on what ever I'm dragging and let "it" get dirty. I then cut that off for firewood, so for the most part, it keeps my logs that are going to the BSM, clean.
