I have a 5' king kutter finish mower that keeps breaking the bearings in the idler pulleys. I replaced 1 already and now I lost the one by the main pulley and ruined my belt. I'm having a hard time locating parts. Has anyone ever cut one of these apart and replaced the bearing?

most likely one can go to most any tractor dealer and find a idler pulley that will fit. if you can not find one form the manufacture,

many of the idlers are riveted together, and could be ground off or cut with a chisel, and the bearing removed and replaced and most likely could be bolted back together, I have never done this as I really have not had that much trouble with idlers, (yes I have many that needed replacement, most of the time have just replaced them), on a mower keep them clean and covered if possible, many times water will set in the bearing and work it way past the seal, and damages the bearings, thus failure,

even a piece of duct tape over the top of the idler can help a lot, with not being used,

do not know if this is the correct part, or not, but may be,

and Agri supply may carry parts that will fit, Agri Supply has farm supplies, tractor implements & mower parts.

Last one I bought I found at Rural King for $30, and at the moment they are out of stock. All the generic pulleys I looked at all had smaller bearing diamitors. I think I need a 3/4" because the nut takes a 15/16" wrench.

I used to buy idlers from TSC but stopped doing that 5 years ago because they never carried the ones I needed, or there was a spot on the rack but it was empty. Amazon has all the idlers you need and they'll be on your front porch in 2 days. Is it any wonder that brick and mortar stores are disappearing?

I had a bearing on my mower deck idler go bad. Due to time constraints just bought a new one and it was pricey.
Took the old one drilled out the spot welds, found a replacement bearing and used steel pop rivets to reassemble it. Cost a fourth of new. Its on the parts shelf waiting to be used.
