sure nicer than being breakfast! Nice dogs.
And nice kitchen Ron, that is very pretty.
I've been looking at rolling islands for my kitchen, have very little counter space.
Would block sight of the fireplace in the kitchen, but since that gets used twice a year, seems like a good tradeoff.
Pretty decent drive up, no major construction, reports on nav system of hour long delays ahead
turned out to be nothing, but traffic was very, very heavy once I hit Virginia. And stayed heavy for five hours.
That tired me out and despite wearing a soft collar my neck predictably hurts.
Thank goodness saw a Chick Filet restaurant down the street, ate a late chicken sandwich there for lunch and brought home a Cobb salad for dinner. Hampton Inn is brand new, with mini suites, fairly large room with big desk meant for business travelers.
Otherwise it's really inexpensively made, half thick plastic molding in bathroom already coming off wall. I pushed the loose bits of trim back for them, no charge. Rug is thin and floor is hard, carpeting in hallway is that burgundy pattern stuff that would make Motel 6 proud. The stuff probably hides a forest of microbes and I doubt all of them are friendly. I figured because it was less than six months old they couldn't have wrecked the room yet. Like getting on a cruise ship when it's new and fresh instead of ten years later.
My normal place up the street was booked for a wedding, no room in the inn. This place has the same guests from the wedding.
Might be a long weekend. I asked and got the last room down at the end of the hallway on the top floor, the fourth. First thing to do is go eyeball the stairway down. That's something I forgot, my flashlight. Have one in the car actually.
Not going to chance the pool, but will eat their free breakfast tomorrow, likely powdered eggs, precooked sausage and Otis Spunkmeyer muffins you could squeeze a pint of vegetable oil out of. I usually get the yogurt and any fresh fruit that looks safe.
Place is pretty quiet right now, think a nap is in order, or at least a few chapters of my kindle horizontally.
