Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I have seen guys fighting with those contraptions. Got tired of shoveling stuff in and out of the PU. Went and bought a dump trailer. Should have done that years ago. $4K new.
Well there is that... and on my bucket list. :D

Pretty common thing in today's conglomerate world taken over by China and/or others. One factory, 100 different labels but same product. Name brand labels cost a lot of money to the consumer. Reminds me of when I was doing industrial refrigeration service. We had a client that made peanut butter; they packed it under around 100 labels. Asked the guys there about different recipes; they said the biggest was the grade of peanuts used most brands were just the same stuff. Grade affected the price out the door. Sat the same thing in the dairy world.

I have a dump truck so no need for one of the unloaders but I’m guessing a cheap piece of shower board laid in the truck with some dish soap sprayed on it would work wonders.

Don't understand "fighting" - real simple hook up, just don't overload and have a slick surface.

And what's the difference $40 or $4,000 it's only money. I only use the unloader a couple of times a year and I "park" my unloader in a truck box.

A shovel and a broom also work.

Get the point people - this is a good tool at a good price for it's intended uses. I'm sure anyone can macgyver an alternative but at $40 with maybe 25% off it's GREAT for the occasional user. In my case we tend to use about only 2 loads of gravel, sand, stone, mulch etc. a year for our suburban lots.

I can set (and have) my Kubota B7610 with the FEL bucket just under my F350 tailgate and then cranked the unloader and filled the bucket with #57. Then drove the load out back where the truck could not get near. Prior to purchase of the unloader it was shovel the material into the B7610 bucket. Other times I've backed into the driveway and cranked a whole load out in minutes.

On the unloader, I learned a neat trick probably on here. Since I had a slide in bedliner I slid a length of flashing under the liner that I could pull out to cover the gap when the tailgate is open.

I'm holding off on that until I find one narrow enough to make it down my woods trails without a lot of hassle, tough enough to survive some time in the woods, and still street legal (or can be easily made so). The Cam Woodsman dump trailer might have fit my needs, but they don't make it any more.

Probably would not even need the dish soap.

I also have simply laid out an old HD tarp that had a loop of rope attached which I'd hooked onto a tree and drove away.

Wow! If I understand you, had to be a very light load or you defied gravity.
