So are rear brakes. (If I'm seeing it right, the rear caliper is gone.)

I take it back. I think there is a rear caliper there but I don't know what those two pieces of metal behind the wheel were for.

I think that is the rear leaf spring. Jon

I wish I took a picture yesterday because it was so stupid. A person was using either a Ford Escape or the Mazda equivalent (the name escapes my mind at the moment, pun intended) to tandem tow 2 cars behind it, on Interstate 80 here in Lincoln. He was maybe going 55mph.

That’s not a leaf spring rear axle, it’s a coil spring, the bars are the control arms.

Maybe, quite doubtful though, the driver wasn't of that ethnicity.
