It is hard to fathom the total devastation of wildfires. I think the Fed's should have a more active role and get them stopped. There should be a Federal Fleet of Jumbo-Jet Air Tankers available to immediately attack and snuff out these fires before they turn in to **** on earth.

Like on 911. I had to wonder why they have no BIG helicopters that could suck up water by landing on the river and discharge it into a burning building at height. Of course that would have ruined their "plan".
I also think the National Guard should be pressed in to service to help fight these fires instead of fighting in stupid wars in countries that hate us. It should not be our job to "save" the world.
Prison chain-gangs were once pressed in to service to help fight wildfires when they weren't building roads and cleaning roadside ditches. Just saying...more could be done.

The "Stupid" wars all have an agenda. And if nothing else, the Military Industrial Complex makes a little money.
I am just guessing, but I bet that the manner in which such fires are fought has changed in recent years due to fire fighter deaths. Probably much less effective. Just a guess. Maybe firefighters can't go near fire anymore. Too Dangerous! Would it surprise you?

They use to start them long before the white man came. A forrest that burns often burns quickly & clears out the undergrowth rather than killing off the trees too. Years of Smoky the Bear & stopping all fires has lead to hotter more destructive forrest fires.
They didn't squeeze much. Lifetime plate that I can transfer to any vehicle and free "Old Fart" registration for the Ranger for as long as I or the Ranger lives.
