I don稚 see many differences between the Troy bilt super bronco and the Cub xt1. What痴 the advantage of one over the other

Well, they both are MTD products. You may want to be specific on the models as I think both are available with different decks.

Normally you pay more for the Cub Cadet name for the same product.

Which color do you like better?

Going through the same thing. It appears that the only difference is the hood design and color. Wish me luck... I'll go with the Troybilt Super Bronco.

Used it for the first time yesterday and was impressed how quickly I did my yard. From a 42 to 50 makes a big difference... got done in about half the time!!

Good choice glad your happy. Cub Cadet in my opinion is nothing more than a name brand of yellow and black. They force people into the impression of having to use cub cadets own brands of expensive fluids and parts or destruction of the machine and warranty void will happen. No difference if its a rider, weed whacker or a compact tractor chances are that some other company made the basic product and Cub Cadet put there colors on it. They do have great customer service at the company level I can say over the others and is an important factor for some like me. Bottom line would be if you want the extra expense for the company support over the product or do you feel comfortable with who you purchased it from to stand behind it.

Hopefully Troy bilt has a similar CS department if I ever need it.

I bought a Troy Bilt 50” mower 5 yrs ago as I wanted the Koehler Courage motor. I have been quite pleased with it and would buy it again.

Nice ... the engine in the one I got is a Koehler but not the Courage. I did use it a second time , this time with a bagger in wet grass. Much to my surprise it performed unbelievably! It cuts my mowing time by 1/3! It does make a mess flushing the deck with water , but that's to be expected. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I
I'll keep posting as time goes on.

I find none of the deck rinse ports works worth a darn, leaving as much grass remaining as it removes. I drive my mower up a set of inclined ramps so I can get underneath with the pressure washer and that works well. As long as I rinse the deck well there is zero corrosion. I coat the underside well with fluidfilm each fall before the winter and this mower should last many years.

I never checked how well the ports worked. I'll give it a look next time I get ready to use it. Alot of debris did come loose after flushing it.

Flush? What is this Flush of which you speak? Old Craftsman 19.5hp, 42" deck rider that is about 25 years old. It gets rode hard and put away wet. I do scrape the underside of the deck whenever the blades need sharpening or replacement. Deck is still solid.

Many of todays decks have a port or ports to hook up a quick connect to a hose to flush debris out from the underside of the deck. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/_8ef5QOcLjA/hqdefault.jpg

I guess a flush port would be a good thing if it works and cleans really well. Not so good, if made of cheap plastic and will be broken and useless in a year or two.

I bought a Troy Bilt Mustang with a 50 inch deck and a Koehler motor in 2008 and it is still running fine. Other than replacing a blade spindle, the routine maintenace items and the battery 3 times I did not replace any other parts. It is starting to leak a little oil but not much. Every time I cut grass I cut 5 acres. I do the regular maintenance and scrape and paint the deck at the end of each season. Not knowing how much longer it would last I bought another Mustang 2 years ago. I use it occassionally but very little.

Deck flush ports BLOW. They blow the grease out of the spindles and cause them to fail. Totally worthless accessory. If you use them, better be greasing your spindles right after you 'wash the deck' or your spindles will fail prematurely.
