As for the sofa, here a quality reupholster would run $800-$1000 including fabric.

I'm sitting in a really nice, comfortable 5 roller, swivel, 2 arm office chair, but the outer covering is falling apart. My wife has fussed at me to throw it away and get a new one. It's too good and too comfortable to throw away. So I checked with an upholstery place and they'd re-upholster it for only 3 or 4 times as much as I paid for it new. I just told my wife no one else has to come in this room and see it.

I was shocked to find another 2.25" of rain in my gauge this morning, so now I'm up to 5.69" for 4 days. And the NWS is still predicting rain every day for the next 3 days.

Got the mowing and most of the weed trimming done yesterday...good thing since it's pretty wet outside

I store the nectar in half gallon plastic milk jugs. I have eight of them. First I pour two cups of sugar into each of them so my hands stay dry while handling the sugar. Then I pour cold tap water into each of them one at a time, cap, and shake. I leave about an inch or so of air at the top and the trapped bubble helps stir the mixture while shaking. Each time I fill a jug and shake it, I shake the previous two jugs as well. After three shake cycles, all the sugar is dissolved, and it doesn't come out of solution when it's stored in the fridge. I don't like drinking hot tap water because it spends time in a water heater that I'm sure is loaded with lime deposits. Cold water works just fine, for both me and the hummers.

Thanks for the info. We have two Rinnai 10 gpm tankless water heaters so, no tank time to worry about.

How often to you have to clean your feeder(s)? Any mold issues?

Good luck with the chainsaw, Eric. Seems like it's always something of a challenge to get one going again after it's been sitting, even if they are run dry and stored in a clean, dry place.

.

When the normal things are checked for fuel problems and it still does not work. Remove carburetor and check metering lever position. If it is to high. At high RPM's engine will run lean. If to low engine will run rich. I have repaired chainsaws and other 2 stoke engines with this being the only repair needed. Needle valves will need to be adjust after this repair. Here is a link to a Walbro repair video. All manufactures of this type of carburetor are similar.

Good morning to all! Got down to 47° this morning, going up to 80. Of course, the forecast has changed and now they are saying a good change of t-storms until Tues. Just 36 hours ago, there was almost no chance of rain. Does it seem that the forecasts are not as accurate as they used to be?

Going to get outside early today and try and stay ahead of any rain or hail. Temps are too nice to even stay in the shop and putter.

We normally get quite a few hummers here, but this year only a couple at a time. We had the feeders out early, but a lot less activity happening. I wonder if it was the higher temps and drier conditions. Well, maybe the return migration will result in more travelers stopping by to refuel.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent.

Interesting pictures of hail LS and yes our forecasting is not as good as it once was. Not enough money spent too many failures in upgraded models but they are always upgrading

The low was 50° this morning, yesterday was in the high 80's. Looks like we have 20% chance of showers and a high back in the 80's for today.

Eric ... Your eyes are better than mine. I can't find him.

Going to take a old chainsaw up and see if the neighbors can get it to run when I go up to help with the animals today. Not much else planned for the day.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.
CWB.

Quality custom upholstery isn’t cheap, but you end up with a superior product if done correctly. I made a very good living for 38 years doing it.
