Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #80,091
Well, got some things started, had to run to the lumber yard for a few sticks I forgot to get on the way home yesterday. Came back home and started cutting up some synthetic underlayment to "precut" for my project. One roll I thought was a full roll was only 3/4 of a roll. The lumber yard was only open to noon, so back I go again. Seems like I spun my wheels this morning and wasted 3 hours of precious time.

So, I finally get on a roll, then I notice a storm building. The weather guessers said hardly any chance of rain today..... Got chased inside by a downpour, which then turned to 1/2" hail. Got almost a 1/2" of rain in the gauge, plus all the hail. Can't complain about the rain though. Some pics of the hail.

I forgot to thank you Topps.

We got a small amount of rain, maybe a tenth .1" Better than nothing.

then I'm ok...I went from one cup of sugar to four quarts of boiling water to two cups for four quarts.
I was wondering if they were sitting around in a sugar high...

Nope, they're probably starving, wondering who the cheap screw is that keeps watering down the drinks!

I used to boil the water, too. Took too long to boil four gallons of water, and have been using tap water with no problems ever since. FWIW...

I like your fountain LS. We’ve got an old small “pitcher” pump like yours and we’re looking for ideas. Is that a tree stump it’s mounted on, or a section of tree trunk?

Nice idea!

Our tap water, at the Ranch, is soft water RNG. Think that’s ok? Or does it make a difference?

I thought I’d ordered same feeder as yours but, found it still sitting in my Amazon Cart today. Duh!

It is an old willow stump (actual) from a tree that died about 10 years ago. Just used some cheap 1/2" plastic tubing on a HF $12 pump. It's been going strong for about 6 years now. Got the barrel (plastic) from TSC. $20 I think. Everyone that comes over asks if I can make them one.

Thanks. You had a great idea!

Good evening all. 72F for the start, mostly overcast, calm wind. Wind stayed light most of the day, overcast through about 1 then some breaking up, and high temp of 85F. Went to the Red River bike rally with two friends, 63.6 miles then to City Limits in Sherman for lunch :)
Prayers for all.

keeps on raining, I'm guessing an inch so far.

The recipe I have seen an always used was simply 1 to 4, so 1 cup sugar to 4 cups water.
They seem to enjoy it at that mix ratio.
