Hello everyone. Thought I'd stop and say hi. My wife and I just purchased a little over 5 acres that is very heavily wood and a very nice house. I'm on here researching a new tractor and it's definitely going to be a required tool when we decide to clear up the land a little. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else uses their tractors for.

To TBN Fordman. It gets me how reluctant people from Indiana are to putting their city in their profile. It is almost like they have something to hide.

Of course he has no pics yet. He is still trying to get that green monster( post #4) turned around in his five acres.

By-the-way(BTW) - - welcome to TBN and this crazy forum.

It's a little known fact Indiana is the #1 state in the Federal Witness Protection Program. :D

Tractors are good for maintaining land that is already cleared, and for clearing light brush and brambles. For clearing woods, a heavy excavator and bulldozer should be hired one time. Trying to clear heavily wooded land with a tractor usually results in abuse to the tractor and danger to the operator.

Welcome! Congrats on the buy.

I have a 05 4320 JD, I have a few cattle and feed by round bales, that’s its primary use.

This past summer my buddy and I got into hay but aren’t sticking with it and selling off our equipment, but glad we gave it a try.
